What I Love About ALL STAR MOVIES!

I truly believe there is something to love (or like) about every Disney resort so I want to start a positive thread on each of the resorts I have stayed in and hope that others will add what they LOVE (or like) about it as well.

I love the true Disney/Hollywood theme at All Star Movies! Our favorite section is Toy Story, especially the Woody building. We love the affordable price of All Star Movies and it includes many perks like Disney transportation, EMH, package delivery etc.... We love the Oreo Cookie milkshakes that you can get in the food court. We love walking by the rooms and seeing how the housekeepers and the guests have decorated the window sills.

While I naever actually stayed at ASMO, we have stayed at ASMU and "visited" ASMO....MY fav thing?
Where else can you vacation amongst giant Disney characters? The casual atmosphere is SO nice, and the food courts rock...so many choices, definitely geared toward the young at heart and the young to keep them excited...when you are tired from the parks but hate to keave the bright colors and magic if WDW parks, the resorts have more waiting for you when you came back to your room! Amd the price can't be beat for the conveniences...just wish my DH felt more like I do!

I only wish I could convice those All Star skeptics about just how great it is. Granted, I initially booked for POR for July, and was looking forward to staying someplace new, but when we switched to ASMovies, all my concerns about staying in a resort with a Disney theme went away. ASMovies has an unexplainable Disney vacation ambience. From the lobby, to the gift shop, to the food court, to the bar at the pool, to the rooms, to the pools - It just feels like a Disney vacation.

All Star Movies is exciting,fun, more Disneyish, and it brings big smiles to young children's faces. It is like stepping into a Disney Movie Fantasland!
Young children are so awed to see their favorite characters bigger than life.

That is one of my favorite WDW trivia facts. I love the way Disney pays attention to details!

Great to hear good things about ASMO. Planning on staying at ASMO next June 2007. I also keep hearing about the variety of food at the food court. The food court seems to get very high ratings from visitors

Our family is staying at ASMovies in 3 weeks! After reading this thread, I can't wait to see it! Sounds like a cool place! We have never stayed on-site before, and can't wait for the Disney magic 24 hours a day! My kids will have to try the Oreo milkshakes. They would love them! My husband wants to me to add this correction to the original post. We got the Oreo Cookie shakes at the outdoor bar but it also has a counter inside the food court if I am not mistaken. They were delicious!

We stayed here last Sept. it was awesome. Great service, great CM's and the atmosphere was tops.

We like the "quieter" pools, and theirs is great. I let the youngest son swim, I did have to do a load of laundry, that was right there.

The icons are unbelievable (even though I do believe I enjoy them more than rest of my group).

We did use Musics bus system a few times, because our room was closer to their bus stop, then Movies. We visited Sprts (my DS10's fav resort), had a pick up football game and one night at Sports they did pin trading one night for the kids.

You almost can't go wrong at Movies, IMHO.

we love Movies resort and music too. The theming is wonderful, the pool has never been too busy when we have been there. I love being able to take my laundry down and either have a swim or sit by the pool reading until it is done ..... DH enjoyed the pool bar, so for anyone visiting this year please say Hi to Bob from Spike, LOL

Mousekeeping were wonderful and did a great job arranging DD's plush into fun arrangements for our return from the parks.

We actually moved from POFQ to the all stars because the service at POFQ was lacking from what we were used to, and we really felt we had come home checking into the all stars last year.

Love, love, love ASMo!!!!! We have young kids so it is truly all about DISNEY when we go. I don't want subtle hidden Mickey's in the bedspread--I want Disney screaming at me in the resort! I love the theming. I can get a "pretty" hotel room anywhere else--I want Disney Movie posters and a disappearing popcorn light when I am at Disney! We are staying at Pop next time and the kids are already disappointed about missing the popcorn light and the squirting Mickey pool!

We also LOVE the food court. Okay, we are not fancy schmancy mango chutney --asiago-- brulle type people. We like good basic food done well. The food court there does it in spades. I think people see the basic pizza and burgers and don't bother to read the rest of the menu. The dinners with fresh carved London Broil and the fresh pasta station is WONDERFUL! Be honest--how many of you knew you could get fresh pasta made by choosing your own ingredients in the ASMo food court?????? It made right in front of you, fresh, hot, huge serving and delicious!

The philly cheesesteak sandwich is so good DH had to eat it 3 or 4 times just to make sure the quality stayed the same! In fact he looks forward to it. We all also love the taco salad and nachos--choose your own toppings.

Many complain the rooms are too small--but I think it just depends on your vacation goal. We go to Disney to DO -- do the parks, do the pools, do the character meals, do DTD etc... We spend so little time in the room it just doesn't matter to us. We need a place to store our clothes, shower and sleep. That is about it! For the price Values can't be beat! That said we could choose the other All Stars but since we aren't much into music or sports, Movies is the BEST!

My family and I have not stayed at ASMo since 1999 and I am so excited to get back this year. Since '99, we've stayed at Sports, Music, Pop, all of the moderates, CR and OKW. While all of the others are great in their own way, there is just something about a giant Pongo or Woody hanging out outside your building. There truely is something about All Star Movies and I can't wait to get there!

My husband and I loved POFQ when it was just the two of us. But now that we have to budget better with two little guys, we LOVE ASMo! We can't imagine staying anywhere else! They loved the Buzz building. Woody was being renovated last September, and the Fantasia pool was closed for cleaning, but we know they will be ready for us when we go back in Sept '08!

I love ASMovies also! We had a wonderful vacation there in Sept. 2005 after evacuating for Katrina. My kids love the value resorts- the food courts and the arcades were sorely missed last year when we stayed at the GF. Sure, the rooms are small, but the grounds are so fun you forget about it!

This resort is my kids favorite place to stay, it would be mine if the beds were bigger. I love the feeling you get at this resort it is not like that at other resorts. I have to agree about the philly cheesesteak! If they could just make the beds bigger I would always stay here.

at how much we love ASMo. I loved the bathroom as weird as that sounds. I loved the black and white theme of it with stars.

The food court was FAB w/ all the pictures from movies and the Disney music. It was big and had alot of variety.

The pools and theming went over BIG with the children!

We had a really great time.

We stayed at All Star Movies in 2000 and really enjoyed it. Believe it or not when I told my DH I had booked WL for our August trip this year, he said he'd rather stay at ASM! The reason... ASM pool bar is open late while the kids were swimming and pool bar at WL closes early! Hey, everyone has their priorities!

It is so good to hear wonderful things about this resort. It seems like all I was reading was negative stuff and I have to admit that I was a little scared to stay here but all my worries are gone and I can't wait for November to come!

I love the whole Disney feeling throughout the entire resort, with the over sized figures. We stayed in the Toy Story section which was incredible but we also walked around the whole place is very "Disney".... I can't wait to return!!!!
