I got so many great tips from this board before our trip that I feel the need to return the favor. Here are a few tips some may find helpful:

1. Don't worry too much about the weather. We had a lot of rain on the 6/8 cruise and still had loads of fun!

2. Bring an expandable accordian file to bring home your photos from Shutters, and other items for scrapbooking (Navigators, ticket stubs, etc). It packs them away nice and neat.

3. Don't forget to bring a little dishwash liquid to rinse out your mugs or baby bottles (if you have those).

4. You can save quite a bit of money arranging your own excursions. It was very easy to do your own thing in Key West and Grand Cayman.

5. One Key West excursion not mentioned by Disney that we thought was a lot of fun was the Lighthouse Museum. There is a great view from the top.

6. The coolers in the staterooms do not get very cold. They are O.K. for sodas, but for something that could spoil (like milk or formula) I wouldn't recommend them. I was very glad we brought a collapsable cooler that our stateroom host was very good about filling with ice for us daily.

We had a wonderful time and I hope you do too.

Thank for the tips will have to get folder. Glad you had a good time.

I agree with everything you said! If we had THAT much fun, and it rained THAT much, I can only imagine what it would be like with sunny weather!!!!! Like life.....a cruise is what you make of it!

Another bit of advice I would add about Key West excursions....Try the 2 hour Jet Ski tour. We did not boook it through Disney. We just walked right off the ship. Their booth/shack is right where the Magic docks. We did the 3:00 tour and thought it was great. They have "handle packs" that you wear over your lifevest, so that DD7 and DS10 could easily hold on. This was THE most exciting thing! Got us thinking about buying a Jet ski!!!!!!! :bounce:

tchrmom,

We are thinking about doing the 2hr jet ski tour too. Were there any age restrictions that you saw? Our youngest is 5 and I want to make sure she can go on it too. Thanks for any info.

We have a DD7 and a DS 10. Both had fun on the jet ski tour. The guys who did our tour, had these harness type things for the front rider to wear. They have handles on the side, so that the rear passenger could hold on. I have one suggestion.....buy some water sport goggles at Wal-Mart before you go. They will keep the sea spray out of your eyes. The tour company had some, but we brought some that were marked "for smaller head sizes". Take the tour.....you won't be sorry!!!!!!!
Have fun!!!!!!!!!! Wish I was going with you!;)

Thanks for the tip about the accordian file! What a great idea, I'm definitely going to have to take one along! I always seem to have papers stashed everywhere when we pack up to come home from a vacation and an accordian file would sure help keep things organized in the room too.

Tchrmom, do you remember how much the jet ski tour cost? My Dh has always wanted to try a jet ski and this sounds like it would be a great way to try it and it sounds like DD8 and I would enjoy it too. Do you actually have a "tour guide" and how long does the tour last?

Let me thinnk..............I THINK the jet ski's were $95.00 for each adult for the 2 hour tour. My kids, were free. They put a deposit on your AMX, just incase your decide to keep/wreck it. The charge never goes through...it is just in case. They start you out single file, following behind the guide....about 300 feet between everyone. The take you out past the Magic and the Pride. There are several spots, where you follow the guides, but are allowed to go as fast as you feel comfortable with. There were 3 guides on our tour, that kind of "hearded us" just to make sure that we all were accounted for. However, there are some places that you REALLY can let it out, if you want to. They show you around Key West, and stop, and tell you a little about the island in various spots. Hubby wanted to take the tour, since he also had never tried a Jet ski before. NOw we all want one!
