What I learned about complimenting CMs

We had a great server, Derek, at Nomad Lounge last night. We were enjoying cocktails and snacks and timing it so we would leave there at 7:45 to get in line for FoP right before park close. He was great at pacing and making sure we were cashed out. I told him I wanted to leave a compliment.

In the MDE app, if you hit the 3 bars down at the bottom, you will then be able to scroll down and you will see send a cast compliment at the bottom. If you use that option, you select from some generic sparkly phrases. When the person signs in for work, they get to read any compliments that have come their way.

I told him that there wasn’t any particularly oriented to servers in restaurants and that I was going to stop by guest services. If you go to guest services, they have compliment slips that you dictate to the guest services cm and you can say exactly what you want to say. Derek told me that when someone does that, the cm receiving the compliment gets a certificate and it goes into their personnel profile.

I have been making a habit of sending a quick compliment in the app any time I encounter a great cm, which is ALL the time. When they are outstanding, I’ve been taking the time to stop in guest services to dictate a compliment.

Yep yep! We make it a point to stop by GS each trip to sign the praises of specific CMs.

Yes Yes Yes!! Going into Guest Services and offering approbation for exemplary CMs is part of making "The Magic" for me in park. Thank you so much for starting this thread!

Always a nice thing to do. And we've heard from CMs that they do get them.

I made little slips that I carried with me each day and wrote down the information I wanted to remember, like CM Name, Where from, Date, Time of Day, Attraction, and Encounter. At end of trip we went to Guest Serviced and filled out the guest compliment forms.

Thanks for the information about the Guest Relations forms! We didn't know about that (but did know about the Cast Compliment form in MDE).

Good Tips!

I miss the days when you could tweet it and they would find the CM and take a picture of them.

I use the "note" option on my phone.
