What healthy snacks to bring into the parks?

We are trying to be cost conscience and want to provide healthy nutrition for our children (DDs 9 and 8 and DS 4 1/2).

I'd like to survive on breakfast in our rooms at BWV of yogurt, oatmeal and probably fresh local produce.

And to bring into the parks? Something light, convenient, won't be construed as a "no, no" by any CMs.

What do you all think?

My ideas:

String cheese, whole grain crackers, fruit, slab of hard sausage?

Any more good ones out there?

Raisins, craisins, dried cherries, dried bananas, nuts, and granola bars :thumbsup2

I don't think the CM's would care at all, unless you're trying to eat a Filet in line or something, LOL! Raisins were a great treat for our kids, my son loves the yogurt-covered ones. Pretzels are good too!

Individual packs of cereal are good for travel.
If SSR has a microwave in their food court, popcorn makes for a good snack. Homemade "trail mix" can be fun.
Also, we have had better luck with the packaged Dole Fruit cups, as opposed to fresh fruit, when traveling. It doesn't get all bruised in the backpack.
A small jar of peanut butter/ soy butter could be brought to spread on crackers.

Have you tried the new Cheerios snack mix? It's very similar to Chex Mix, baked instead of fried, whole grain, and low fat. (Do I sound like a commercial yet?) It's pretty good. You could buy a big bag and put some in snack-size ziplocks to take into the park. I also like to take along some snack size bags of things like Teddy Grahams, gummies and such. Maybe not the healthiest options but it is vacation.:goodvibes We also bought several of the snack size bags of Mickey pretzels while we were there last summer - my little girl loved those. They were sold all over the place and, IIRC, they were't terribly expensive.

I'm gonna take fruit snacks, peanuts, cereal bars, and fishy crackers for sure. Also plan on packing a couple water bottles (half filled w/ice) and hope to refill at water fountains throughout the park.

We didn't wanna eat breakfast so we each brought out own snacks for that & throughout the day. I had special K snack bars in my bag (that were sooo good), jello/pudding cups w/ plastic spoons, fruit snacks (they have a lot that are low in sugar now too), individual bags of chips. I just picked some stuff each day & threw them into my backpack. The special K bars are something I'd highly recommend, they're not high in sugar but they taste sweet almost & have chunks of fruit in them. They're very satisfying. Your kids will love them too & they're healthy :thumbsup2
