Last November, when we were there at Thanksgiving, I saw no less than 3 different kids at 3 different times walking around playing with a Gameboy. :confused3

I mean, my son is an addict, and even HE gives up the Gameboy for a day in the parks. As a parent, the amount of money I spend for my child to be in a Disney park, over my dead body would they be walking around with a Gameboy clued to their hands. No way, no how.

I could see MAYBE bringing it to pass time in long lines, but these kids were not in line, they were walking with their families.

I actually think a gameboy isn't a bad idea for kids at Disney. Like you said it passes time in lines so you don't hear as many complaints. And as for seeing them outside the lines with one, as long as they are being careful where they are walking, no problem.

I am sure they are still enjoying the magic.

Sorry if that isn't the post you were hoping to see. Others probably feel exactly like you do.

One of the things that I have seen in the parks that can kind of bother me is the lack of clothing that people decide to wear to the parks!! Old and young alike for this one...ladies wearing just bikini tops...hello...this is Disney World, not a waterpark! I get that it can be very hot sometimes, put putting on a tank top isn't that much more clothing than a bikini!

Yikes!

I'm still amazed at the STUFF people schlep around. For heavens sake, pay the 2.00 for water, don't lug a cooler around. I've seen strollers with more junk than I packed for the whole week. Then either someone has to stay and watch it or you have to leave it to ride.

Teaching, I agree with you there!!!

Lack of clothing, fit-pitching kids, and people that are in their own little world who run into everyone.

Men walking around with cell phones, doing business on the phone, yelling at secretary back in office - while in the men's room at Disney!! and in the parks too....

I'm one of those schlepers, with 5 of us @ 2 waters a day min. that's $20 times 7 days=$140 FOR WATER??? No way, I'll keep bringing the stroller & the cooler and leave it while I ride. Never had any problems with stuff getting stolen.

The worst I saw was a woman (European?) with a dental floss thong on at Blizzard Beach. Boy was she turning the heads. Little much for a Disney park :earseek:

I thought that bikini tops and men without tops at all were not allowed in the 4 main parks?? But i do agree, whatever size the person, slim or pooh sized i dont like to see bikini tops other than waterparks - you wouldn't walk around in just a bra and shorts now would you?

I've seen this numerous times!!!

People literally snatching their kids out of strollers and slinging them into stroller parking so that they can run over a family to get to be in front of that family in line. :sad2:

Of course, what's funny is watching the "in such a hurry family" stand right in front of the family they ran over for 15 minutes while they wait in line!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

How about people just slow down and have fun? Wouldn't it be nice for a change to see someone say, "no, I insist, your family should go ahead of us!" :goodvibes

I have heard that it is forbidden attire, but I still see someone at each park only wearing a bikini top and shorts. DH and I say the same thing to each other whenever we see it..."You wouldn't wear just your bra out at the park"!!!

I shake my head at the women in 3-4 inch heels (usually the clear, lucite ones :sad2: ), the huge Louis Vuitton bag (usually the knapsack or humongo bucket bag, brand new, no sign of age on those straps) and the tube top/halter/bikini top with great big, Pamela Anderson sized ta tas and super short Daisy Dukes that Britney or Christina would find too revealing. These ladies are usually seen clinging to their Arnold-like hubbies or boyfriends like they are afraid that the boys eyes might stray just a little bit. To keep the eyes glued they shove their chests way out and don't miss an opportunity to stick their tongues down boyfriend/hubby's throat while holding onto their lit cigarettes! :earseek: :earseek: C'mon, this is a family park, right?

With regard to my most recent trip I would have to say the thing that bothered me most was the woman who was being so mean to the little girl with her on Test Track who did not want to ride. My DD is 7 so I am guessing this little one was maybe 5 or 6 and she was crying and just didn't want to go. The lady she was with (I don't think it was her mom because we ran into them again the next day and she was with someone else) started out explaining it wasn't scary and then she was just downright mean telling the little girl she wasn't going to "ruin the ride for her" and she could just "stay over there" until she was done riding. The little girl was freaking out because she didn't know where "over there" was nor did she want to stay there alone. But guess what . . . the little girl did stay "over there" and was still crying when me and the kids got off the ride. My DD7 said to me "mom would you make me ride something I didn't want to ride?" This was kind of funny coming from her because her favorite rides are M:S, TOT, and RNR but she just felt bad for the little girl. So I said in my not so nice loud voice "of course I wouldn't make you ride something you didn't want to . . . that's just mean." My boys are 10 and 12 and they don't like TOT yet (me and DD are still working on them) but I still wouldn't make them ride. This has to be my biggest problem with people in the parks. They are there to have fun not torture little kids. I would have liked to take the little girl outside and wait with her but that probably wouldn't have gone over very well.

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: Some people are just downright selfish!! I cannot be that woman put that kid in jeopardy so she could ride a ride... What a shame...

We were at WDW three weeks ago and I did shake my head at how the teen girls were dressed (lots of Cheerleaders :cheer2: while we were there). My husband and I commented to each other that we were glad we didn't have girls, because there is no way in **** that we would allow our daughter to dress like these girls. I'm sure my daughter would hate me, but that would be too bad.

Where are their mothers???????? :confused3

I've needed to vent on that for almost a month - thanks!

Antmaril, we were there then, I think. Our trip was from Feb 2-Feb 6. Our daughters did all star cheerleading for three years, they are still just babies, 8 & 10 now. I hear you about the clothes and makeup. My DH used to cringe when he saw them all "tarted up".

During my August 2000 trip, we were sitting on Main St. watching the parade when two older women to the left of us started pushing and shoving to get a better view of the show!!! :earseek: Now I would expect this from youger, less mature people, but not two adults...they became so forceful in their fight that people around them started falling into others...it was a real mess...

Disney is the happiest place on earth isn't it? Can't we alljust get along!

On our trip in 2004 we let the boys bring their gameboys but they were to use on the plane and at the condo not while walking around the parks. For the trip last week I told them to leave them at home. My son had his CD player for the plane and my younger two had a radio for the plane but that is the only place they were used. They never asked to bring them to the parks and I would have said no anyway. The whole point this trip was for some time just for me and the kids to spend together and that included having conversations with mom while waiting in line. My DS12 talks to me quite a bit anyway but we had a lot of good conversations at WDW. They helped decide where we would go next, what to do for lunch, etc. There were a lot fewer arguments there than at home also. I don't know how you could walk around WDW staring at a gameboy screen when there is so much to see if you just look around you. We started looking for hidden Mickeys last week and plan on buying the book for the next trip because we all loved that game.

There are only about three things THAT ALWAYS bother me at Disney. The number one thing is smokers! I'm sorry if you are one, but please learn from this post then. DO NOT SMOKE OUTSIDE OF THE SMOKING AREAS! That's why they are created. I can smell that smoke UPWIND from like 30 ft away much less when someone is standing right in front of me on Mainstreet. I hate that. Another one is also the girls that dress inadequetly for long hot day at Disney. Giant stiletto heels, a tight leather dress and a huge hand bag that's probably holding only there makeup. The last thing is actually something about the parks and not the people. I hate when I'm waiting in line and there is every color in the world on the walls. Paint you say?! NO GUM! I just think that's horrible that people would first stick it on the walls and under railings so that when your running your hand over it your fingers touch it and second because no one cleans it up. Splash Mountain is notorious for this.
