I want to know, what you fellow DIS'ers have FORGOTTEN to pack that you WISHED you had packed... you know, things you had to run out and buy, and you paid an arm and a (Mickey Mouse) leg for. :confused3
(Better that than a DL turkey leg??)

I think we packed well the last 2 times, but in all honesty brought too much food, ha ha! Too much microwave popcorn, hot chocolate, instant soup, etc...

What we do know now that we didn't know then, is that the kids are soooo tired, they literally crawl into bed and are snoring zzzz'z within moments.

Moments after that, my spouse is also snoring ZZZZZ's VERY Loudly that we of course tape and show how loud the snoring is the next day, ( they wouldn't believe it otherwise) and all laugh our heads off at...:happytv: We always delete it, of course!! :goodvibes

All part of a great family vacation, ha ha....

(Heck, even mice snore, I think.) It's allowed. :wizard:

So... what have YOU forgotten to pack miles from home that you WISH you did?

Advil or tylenol. With all the screaming and loud ride sounds we had bad headaches, we ended up buying a bunch of advil packets in the lobby of our hotel. That was before we found out you can get tylenol at the first aid center, and I've heard recently you can get it at city hall but not sure about that.

We also forgot to bring extra tapes for our video camera. We were about to take a tour when we noticed we needed another tape. Dh ran off somewhere to get one and got back just as the tour was starting.

Medine for the kiddos. Whenever I don't bring it, I need it and spend a fortune at a gift shop somewhere. DD is very picky about which flavor of meds she will take, so I try to remember even on the quick trips.

I also like to bring along an extension cord. With all the camera chargers, cell phone chargers, laptop cords, we just never have enough outlets.

Batteries for a digital camera. I purchased an 8-pack at Wal Mart the night before we left, then left them in the car at the airport. When we got to DL, I purchased some in the park and had to pay more $ for 4 batteries than I payed for 8 @ Wal Mart! :headache:

When I was in high school I remember going to DL with my family and no one had a sweatshirt for the summer evening. It was cold enough that we all had to buy Disneyland sweatshirts (oh, too bad. ;) ) Since then, I always remember to bring something to wear in the evening. Sometimes we need them, sometimes we don't.

Can't wait to see what others say! I'm making my packing list now. :thumbsup2

There's a general list of items that I usually try to remember to bring that I absolutely need that sometimes I tend to forget :

- tums, lactaid, etc. so your stomach can handle all that rich food.

- battery charger for camera, cell phone, portable dvd player etc.

- headache medicine !

- ponchos! when we went in January I thought we wouldn't need 'em and we totally did. We ended up having to pay for some and they were so cheap that they tore after using them for 30 min. So I say buy some if you're going during the rainy season.

- conditioner and body wash. They never have enough for me in the hotel room.

- q tips, sunblock, chapstick, etc. All those random toiletries that you'll need.

If I forgot my lactaid, I'd be very upset. I plan on having a waffle cone at Burrr Bank Ice Cream! :)

I also don't want to forget my little fan. My mom bought it for me there last time we went. It also was nice to have in Las Vegas. Very useful item for a hot day.

That was before we found out you can get tylenol at the first aid center, and I've heard recently you can get it at city hall but not sure about that.

The first aid centers have acetominophen, ibuprofen, and aspirin.

They also have magical ice packs that work brilliantly on headaches and twisted ankles!

We haven't needed anything that I remember. I overpack, usually, though I overpack while using well under the amount of luggage many people bring. :)

Toothbrush and toothpaste! For some reason, I forget them all the time. Even stapled to my forehead, I somehow manage to leave them behind. My DH gets really cranky when I use his (what's up with that? we kiss all the time, sheesh), and has learned to pack extra in self-defense. :lmao:

Sunblock which DID cost an arm and a leg and after all that gave Sean a rash

My DH said, "No I don't need a sweatshirt, it's warm out." Uh, huh, so then we had to buy a sweatshirt.

Actually, I'm pretty sure we brought them to the hotel, but not to the park, which meant either losing an hour in the parks or coughing up the big bucks.

shaving cream and razors my dh forgot them.
we bought my sun bat man sunglasses when we were there couse his broke. (now there lost at my moms house grrr but they will find them)

i had all the meds we might need with the bandaids andwipes to wipe off scraps and stuff

also you never relize how many drinks you need. (last time we drunk water alot becouse we werent thinking this time were ordering vons or albersons so we will get drinks and food.

A laundry basket- we go for a week at a time, and all the dirty laundry gets in the way.

Sunscreen. We remembered it, but it turns out we did not bring enough. (We went through four cans last time!)

Now, here's a question- What have you forgotten to pack AT THE HOTEL that you wish you would have brought home?

Now, here's a question- What have you forgotten to pack AT THE HOTEL that you wish you would have brought home?

Oh, we have forgotten our personal pillows on THREE separate vacations. The last time the hotel in SF was nice enough to mail them to me.

Really? I wish I had thought of that, because the pillow I left last time was REALLY nice.

I only packed one pair of contact lenses, and then managed to get conjunctivitis, s I had no glasses and no contacts... :lmao:

In regards to what I've left behind, it wasn't at DL, but I once left a friends jacket in a hotel room... Never to be seen again :guilty:

Now, here's a question- What have you forgotten to pack AT THE HOTEL that you wish you would have brought home?

ALL of my son's clothes! We had to leave EARLY in the morning and his clothes were stored oh so nicely in the drawers in the room. In the rush to get everything packed, DH and I both completely overlooked DSs clothes and did not realize until we were all the way back home - in Canada! Never heard from the hotel about it either, so some lucky little boy got an awesome summer wardrobe - including his Snoopy t-shirt from Knott's Berry Farm....

once i forgot to pack pants for myself! luckily, we were staying at the Residence Inn across the street from Target, so i just went across the street.

i will never forget my muscle relaxants, though. some of the rides (esp if we go to knotts/six flags), the rides are so fast that i get a neck sprain/migraine that will last for days unless i take it.

we also never forget to take a blanket with us to DL for the kids. we'll leave it in the stroller, but when they nap or it gets cold, we cover them up with it.

I'm pretty good about packing, (we usually drive) but my friend forgot to pack an extra change of clothes for her toddler. He had a "blow out" diaper and HAD to change his clothes. Good luck trying to find simple pair of pants or sweats that don't cost $45. Think she finally came up with something but it wasn't cheap.

Excellent ideas, everyone, thanks! I especially like the idea of bringing along an extension cord!!
Keep the ideas coming, and remember to pack your child's comfort item, whether it be a blankie or a toy, or you may be up the creek! AND - remember to check everywhere when you leave the hotel, for anything left behind, and bring a small flashlight to get the kids to check under the beds, too... since they're little and think things like that are fun, too! :woohoo:
