What have you done that you swear no one else has done at Disney!

I took my first trip to disneyworld when I was 22. While on the Jungle Cruise, the CM who was driving the boat and telling the jokes, turns to me and says' "Hey New York" (I was wearing a NY t-shirt), "you are so cute. Come and drive the boat with me." I was very embarrassed but sat with him. He made me wear his hat and when the ride was over he asked me where I was staying and what was my room number. Nope, didn't give him any info, but it was fun, getting the attention. That was 27 years and many pounds ago

Back in the 1980s Michael Jackson was staying at my hotel and I got his autograph. I think he was filming something at Epcot at the time. Another time I got about 100 balloons from a character in the afternoon parade.

There has been plenty over the years, but I got to take down the flag at Magic Kingdom not once but twice! I am a 100% disabled Vietnam veteran and very patriotic and both times it was very moving for my familiy and myself!!! :earsgirl: :smooth: :bounce:

Love that pic of Jasmine, Cruella, Belle and, um, [I can't tell!]!
Heroin/Villain combo.

Anyway..
On my second visit to WDW, I was on the phone near the toilets (I think) somewhere between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland to my [now ex-]BF. The Mad Hatter appears, takes the receiver off me, and starts talking to my [very confused] BF on the other end! A few mins after I managed to get it back off him, one of the Tweedle twins came over and tried the same thing!

And on my first visit I saw Goofy waterskiing outside MK (although I'm sure many people have seen this!).

On our last visit, we visited several resorts to "check them out" for future trips. Well, DH took a wrong turn in our van and we ended up on a "staff only" street. Realizing this, we turned around and headed back the way we came, only to read on the back of the "staff only" sign: "Don't forget to smile!" (Or something very close to that.) I guess the CMs are real people, too, needing a daily reminder to be cheerful!! :rotfl:

sure someone else has done this but the cm on the hayride let my girls sit up front with her and drive the horses...they really were driving since they didn't do to good a job and were all over the place on the trail. it was really special for them though( eldest loves horses till this day)

also think we were on a bus that the driver got lost( glad it's not only hubby and i that get lost at wdw) took us all around service areas, behind MK all over and guessing he wasn't supposed to since no other buses were there.. our own little behind the sences tour

What have you done that you swear no one else has done at Disney!...

There are 5 Disney memories that I will forever cherish......

1. Sitting at "WALT's" desk in the Disney Archives in the Burbank Studios.

I can't even describe the feeling which brought joyful tears to my eyes.

2. Visiting Roy Disney's office in the Animation building in Burbank. His whole office started on the 2nd floor and ceiling coned up and WAS the Sorcerrer's Hat that you see from the outside.

Sitting at his desk...looking at family photo's throughout the room....awesome!!

3. Solo touring (with my cousin who worked there) and Visiting with animators at the Animation Studio's. They were pencil scetching "Lion King" scenes at the time. Just MARVELOUS!!

4. Having lunch with Donald Duck !! Yes...the then voice human!!

5. Personally meeting and had lunch with the original Tinker Bell (Margaret Kerry), Walt's model actress. She was 4 yrs. old when she started with Walt...now she's 75 and just as fiesty!!!

Im looking at her signed, picture I have in my office...she shared her memories of working with Walt and also Marilyn Monroe which surprised me....WOW!!!

Such beautiful memories I take with me on this...life's journey :cloud9:

We are far from the only ones, but my husband's band was on Star Search when it was taped in MGM studios with Ed MacMahon. I had to pay for my own airline ticket, but the guys in the band all flew down for free. We had free hotel rooms at Dixie Landings and free entrance into the parks for the entire three days of our stay. I think each band member also had a meal allowance. Met some interesting fellow contestants. Sadly, they didn't win, but a fun memory.

I'm sure other people have done these...

1) When I was 18, I hugged Cinderella's Castle for at least 5 minutes and got tons of weird looks as people walked by. I showed my friends the pictures and even they thought I was crazy for hugging a building.

2) Again when I was 18, Dale spoon feed me sprinkles at Chef Mickey's at CR. I had a bowl of them for my various desserts and he saw me take a spoonfull of just sprinkles so he stayed at our table feeding me the whole bowl until I ate them all by themselves. The whole room was laughing and watching us. I don't think I have ever blushed that much in my entire life.

3) I took my first steps at the Magic Kingdom. :earsboy:

my boyfriend and I went to wdw for my 21st birthday a couple of years ago, we got in the looong line for small world, when we got to the frount the cat member so my birthday badge and got the whole crowd singing happy birthday to me then gave us a boat all to ourselves, it was o sweet

Wow, I swear there was somebody else who had done this......

I am a Jungle Cruise FREAK...I love it.....I have ridden it more than once in an afternoon/evening MK visit after my classes were done at school many a time.....

So since I know all the jokes, after the 1st ride one night, a skipper at unload asked us how our skipper was, and I (for some unknown reason) said "eh, she was ok, I coulda done better......" and he was like "really? you wanna do it?" and I was like "yeah!"

So he took us to load, put some people on it, and assisted me as I told all the jokes and drove the boat.......that was SO FUN....

now I just wish we had pics....

Well, I am sure we are not the only ones but this was very memorable.
My hubby and I were the only ones on the Monorail a few weeks ago. The driver called us over and we got to sit right in the front with the driver. It was really cool watching us go through that big window. When we got out - he handed us a couple of co-pilot badges for the monorail. It was really nice since it also happened to be our anniversary!

Senecabeach,
Can you divulge your connection that allowed you to have such wonerful experiences? These sound so amazing!

I think my neice may have been the reason Goofy had to call in sick a couple of years ago! It was my DB and family's first trip to WDW and we took them to Chef Mickeys for dinner. DN (4yo) was entranced by all the characters but particularly Goofy. When dinner was over, we popped on over to Outer Rim for an after dinner cocktail. At this point, Goofy was standing near the exit at CM for photo opps and clearly visible from Outer Rim. DN wanted to say "bye-bye" so I took her over and she ran to Goofy and wouldn't let go of his leg! We practically had to drag her away and we still joke about the day Goofy had to call in sick because of a dislocated kneecap! :rotfl: :rotfl: Ooooooh and has anyone else ever seen their 30-something baby brother cry when his DD enters Main Street for the very first time and says "Dad, look, it's the REAL Pinnochio!" as he comes right out of Exposition Hall

And ooooooh on another trip, DD and I went to MK the week before Christmas and decided to take the holiday-decorated horse-drawn bus from Main Street to the Hub. The driver made us all sing "Jingle Bells" all the way! A very cherished memory!

Every memory is unique, yes? :wizard: princess:

Well, this happened at Disneyland, and it's probably under that category of Too Much Information. But, I'm willing to bet that this is something that hasn't happened to too many people in the world, let alone on the DIS. I visited Disneyland when I was 11. My first trip to California and my trip to Disney or any kind. And, I got my period for the very first time while I was on Tom Sawlyer's Island. Of course, it was before we visited the ocean.

Anyone want to join my club???

I'm joining your club Madi100! It happened to me, December 1977, in Space Mountain!

E=gypsydoodlebug]DH and I were the first people to hit Pirates of the Caribbean, his favorite ride, one morning. We got an entire boat to ourselves and sat right in front, with no one in the boat behind us.

He wanted to make out but I told him, "No with all the cameras, dummy! You don't want our video to end up on The DIS all Paris Hilton-like, do you? I'd never be able to show my SIGNATURE again!" :love2:[/QUOTE]

:scared1: :scared1: ARE YOU SURE THERE ARE CAMERAS???

We were the only ones on that ride too and we did more than make out...OMG REALLY :bitelip:

Are there cameras on the Observation Deck outside the CG too :bitelip:

What about the elevators in the GF :bitelip:

I am going to throw up :faint:

Well obviously I'm not the ONLY one who has done this, but it sure is my most memorable at Disney...
I was picked to sit in the hot seat at Who Wants to be a Millionaire in MGM.
I wasn't picked for the fastest finger answer part, but my score was 1st place when they show the scores of the audience. DS was sitting next to me and when he saw my chair number was in 1st place he just looked at me with his eyes wide and this big fly-catching open mouth expression on his face and he says "mommy, that's you!" The look on his face was priceless. I can still picture it when I close my eyes today. He was so proud. We were sitting all the way up in the very last row. The whole time I was walking down to sit in the hot seat I hear my kids saying "That's our mommy, that's our mommy!!!! YEAH MOMMY!!!"
The host did the usual interview with me on the HUGE video screen. He asked me to introduce my DH and my kids (as the camera was on them and they were on the big screen)....oh how I wish I could have had that videotaped!
After every correct answer I gave...all I could hear (even though the whole place was politely clapping) was my DD yelling YEAH MOMMY!! all the way from that tippy top row.
No I didn't win the Disney Cruise. Even if I would have it was for a family of 4 and we are a family of 6, lol. But my DS wore that Millionaire Hat, Lanyard, pins and the whole get up for the rest of the day....everywhere we went the CM's inquired if he had been on Millionaire that day. He just smiled so proudly and said, "no, but my mom was!"
That was my best Disney trip ever.

Jennifer
