First of all, I apologize for asking this right now when most of you are planning spring and summer trips...but our next trip isn't until Christmas and I can't find anything on this topic when I do a search.

I'm trying to decide what we'll do on New Year's Eve. We're staying at BCV so lots of time will be spent at Epcot. We'll have the DDP so I want a nice dinner that evening. We'll have our 8 and 10 year old DS and DD with us. Any suggestions for us? Doesn't have to include staying up until midnight but I know we'll want to celebrate somehow!

Thanks much,

Deb

Epcot does early fireworks at 7:30/8:00 and then again at midnight. MK does two nights of NYE fireworks so it works out pretty well to go there the night before. Crowds! Make your reservations early if you have a favorite place. We haven't tempted fate yet and get to the park of our choice early and do not plan on it being a ride day. We carry books and other distractions to keep us busy from about 11am - midnight. It's also a good people-watching day but I don't know if an 8 & 10 year old would like that. I have heard people say that they have entered Epcot at 9pm with no problems but we don't want to take the risk. I love my fireworks! Midnight fireworks are the best! Have heard that MK is almost unbearably crowded on NYE. We've never heard about anything extra at Studios for NYE. Epcot will have people on the grass in every available spot and in hallways up front. Street entertainment starts around dark and is varied by the country -- DJs up by the fountain and at Japan, salsa by Mexico. Lots of champahne stands and lots of beer by England! Just plan carefully. Our first year I talked with lots of dining reservation people. Hope we're able to go this year since we had to cancel last year.

I agree totally with above.....we where their for the mother of NYE in epcot. the millenium...we arrived at 8am and left at 1am.....my suggestion is a nice dinner at teppanyaki staek house. it is fun for the family and entertaining as well....also if you choose to stay for the fireworks, you can watch them from the porch in japan, without fighting the crowds.

Please no politcs on Disboards

Who says so...do you make the rules....as far as I am concerned it is not politics but who I am and what I believe...I am an American, and I assert my right to say and beleive what I wish, and you can assert your right to ignore it!!!

My family and I have gone down to Disney twice for New Years. Both time we spent NYE in Epcot. The first time we ate at the restaraunt in England (forgot the name now...) and had reservations that were ironically close to midnight, hoping that if the service was slow we would be able to see the fireworks while we were eating, but we didn't have a very good view, so we ate and left to watch the fireworks outside. The second time we ate in Mexico since it was the only place that wasn't booked, and then my friends and I spent the rest of the night dancing in Japan.

Also, both times we got to Epcot late (8-9ish) and got in fine. We never attempted MK since we assumed that it would be packed. Epcot is always crowded, but not to an unbearable point. :goodvibes
