Hi and welcome!!!
Wow... a LOT has changed!!! Aside from things like the new fantasyland, there are some procedural things you may want to know:
- Fastpass has just been revised, it's not Fastpass+. The main differences are that, if you're staying on site, it can bee booked 60 days out. And you're limited to 3 FP+ per person per day, all in one park.
Also, fastpass return times are now strictly enforced.
- Photopass has been changed to Memorymaker. As far as I can tell, the main difference is that it's now digital instead of a CD.
- Not sure about fall, we're both teachers and go over the summer. But in the event that your trip coincides with free dining (frequently offered in September) know that ADRs can -- and maybe "should"-- be made 180 days out.
- WDW now offers 2 dessert parties. One is for Wishes, at the Tomorrowland Terrace, and we just love it!!! (You have a SEAT for fireworks, and a cup of coffee/tea in your hand... how fabulous is THAT??) THe other is brand new, at Epcot, and includes desserts from around the world and a variety of wines.
- The Coral Reef no longer offers personalized menus or diver with signs.
- Not sure whether this was true when you last went, but if you stay on site you have access to EMH-- Extra Magic Hours when a particular park opens early or stays open late for on site visitors.
That should get you started! Happy planning.
