...Sure I could kill a bunch of trees and print off worksheets that would help them learn the things they are learning on the games.... Or I could let them learn in a way that they enjoy. And you know what.... If my kids are getting good grades, behaving well in school and sports, I really don't think an hour or 2 in the evening, snuggling on the couch with me, playing on their ipads is the worst thing that can happen to them. We don't live in the same world as we used to. My kids have had Ipads issued to them in school since kindergarten. 95% of their school work is done on them, at least for my 5th grader. Also, I don't understand why people assume that parents who allow their kids to use tablets in restaruants don't engage with their kids. Like, if I'm at home with my kids all weekend, I can guarantee you, I engaged with my kids A LOT. So if we go out to eat on Saturday night and I let them play on their ipads while waiting for food in a busy restaurant, it's not like they didn't get time with me or that I didn't engage with them the whole rest of the dang day. Just because I'm a parent does not mean 100% of my time has to be focused on my children. I'm also allowed to want to have an uninterrupted conversation with my husband.
Also did you know that tablet time can be used to help with behavior problems?
