Yesterday morning was dedicated to rearranging travel plans; I'm stuck in Florida due to the hurricane/tropical storm. My flight was at 8pm Wednesday but MCO closed at 6pm. American Airlines rebooked me on a Thursday flight- like they didn't KNOW that the weather was going to be as bad or worse today as it was yesterday? SO... on Tuesday they canceled my Wed flight and put me on a Thursday flight. I had a rental car to return on Wed so I booked a room at the airport for Wed night, figuring I'd use the shuttles. Well, on Wednesday morning they canceled my Thursday flight and sent possible flight schedules for Friday. I booked a different airport hotel for Thursday night. THEN found that not only were the Friday options no longer available, but that American wasn't sending options or rescheduled anymore. I had to call, and they can't get me out of here until SUNDAY. So that is how I spent Wednesday morning, juggling travel arrangements.
(FTR, I extended the rental car, still had to keep the Wed night at one hotel, tonight at another hotel scenario, but rooms here are currently pushing $230 a night, so I booked a Kissimmee hotel for Friday and Saturday nights for about half the price. The extended rental car and additional hotel nights will cost about $900 on top of the money already spent at Disney. Thankfully I had some hotel points to offset some of the cost, but not much. The room I'm currently in overlooks MCO and nothing is flying in or out, at least that I can see.)
