What has been your best Disney souvenir?

Hi there,

We're visiting Disneyland for the first time in September from New Zealand. I would like to take home a momento of our visit which will stand the test of time and not become one of those "What on earth possessed me to purchase this!" items. We often come home with mugs, plates and teddy bears (we are now completely over-run with the critters) and of course the regulatory tee-shirt which is rarely worn again...

What has been your most loved and treasured souvenir from Disneyland?

Thanks

Baseball hats. My son loves them and wears all the time. I have a favorite too. Mugs. I LOVE coffee and I actually use them. I figure if I spend $15 on a hat that gets worn all year it's worth it.

I loooovvvvee my Pirates of the Caribbean t-shirt. I looked around carefully to find an adult size that says "Dead Men Tell No Tales" on it, and it's my favorite reminder of our first trip. Reason being, on our trip my kids started imitating that phrase all over the park, in deep, dark, menacing tones... but then they made up their own endless variations. So we got some pretty funny looks while waiting in line at Splash Mountain, and all three of my kids are taking turns moaning things like, "Dead men smell no pails.... dead men eat no snails... dead men hoist no sails... "

Oh.My.GOSH!!!!! We do the SAME thing and get the same crazy looks!!!! :lmao: How funny, I've never heard anyone else doing it! LOL

Favorite souvies? My pins, my clothes (cute Tink tank top that I LOVE), my Tink bball cap. So many pictures all over my house. LOL I wear my Disney clothes everywhere, I wear them on weekends, I wear them to work. I have a casual workplace so I can wear jeans and whatever shirts I want, I wear Disney stuff alot. LOL

Edited to add that my girls have pirate ears, those are their favorite things, other than autographs of course.

This sounds SOOOOOO lame..but you know the slightly bigger pens they have for the autograph books so the characters can use them?

Well DH and I needed a pen when we were there for our honeymoon..so we bought one of those. It worked up until like two months ago (so 5 years!) and we BOTH mourned it's death!

Okay here is my list:
men's ankle socks with the Mickey on the side, I wear these everyday
I always get myself a pair of earrings
a frame, we put a picture of ourselves in front of the castle from that trip
a Jack book bag, my ds used his everyday this last school year
a beach towel, ours are used daily during summer to dry up after swimming and the color does not fade
a keychain
a magnetic notepad for grocery lists and phone memos
a Disney music CD
and I usually get some sweets to eat on the long drive home (rice krispy, fudge, pastries from the bakery)

Have a great trip!

I always get coffee mugs too! I love to use them and think of my trip while I have my coffee. I have a nice one from Disneyland's 45th anniversary. I also got one with all the villians on it. Last trip I looked everywhere for a Pirates mug since that was when they re-opened the ride with Jack Sparrow. Couldn't find one. :confused3

:cutie:

This may be a little off subject, but my favorite souvenir was my engagement
ring. He didn't buy it from Disneyland, but I did receive it while I was there.
It is always a big story to tell and I love the way my fiancee proposed to me
at DL. It is by far, the best souvenir I've received from DLR.

In regards to things that I LOVE to get at DLR, I'd day the musts for me are :

- a Disney sweater
- new pins that catch my eye
- a cool mug
- traditional mickey ears with your name on it !
