I am always hearing about how great the Disney CMs are and yes Disney has some great employees, but I think Universal meets if not exceeds Disney in customer service. So, my question is what has a UNi/IOA employee done for you that stands out or made your trip special.

For me one employee stood out in making our trip this last Summer truly exceptional. This was our 2nd trip to Universal/Ioa. The year before make a wish granted my daughter a wish of Disney,Seaword, and Universal. We were pleased to go back again. We took my daughter to see Barney in the Park. After the show one of the ladies working there recognized my daughter from the year before with Make a wish(with all the children that visit each day I found this absolutely amazing). She then asked my daughter to stay behind for photos with BJ and Baby Bob as well as Barney. My daughter is a Barney fanatic owning every movie made so this made my little girls day and my wife and mine as well. My only regret is that I didn't get her name to let management know how much we appreciated the this wonderful lady in their employ.

what a nice thread you have started. thank you.

i'll start posting on here. i have meet many wonderful employees at UO.
i always give the info and my praise to guest services before i leave the park.
i then receive a follow up letter at my home address to thank me for sharing the names of great employees.

i have to check before i list the employee here and the spectacular things she has done for me.

she is a super star indeed.
i have the most respect for the guest services employees.

they go out of their way to make things right for the guests.

my 1st trip onsite to universal i sent a letter in with some reservation requests and mentioned it was our first trip and asked what was not to be missed. when i arrived with my niece and nephew, we were given an upgraded view with a direct view of the hulk and received a plate of cookies and milk which we weren't expecting since we had booked with a deal. i also received a bottle of wine with a note from the person who had received my letter and said she hoped the kids and i had a great time. i'm not really a drinker so thanked them for the wine but told the waiter he could take it back. he asked what else we would like. i suggested some juice for the kids and he came back with a pitcher full of apple juice bottles. oh almost forgot, they also sent chocolate covered strawberries. it was really a nice touch and we have been faithful visitors ever since.

that beats out any of my experiences, that's incredible. :)

Disney doesn't have the market cornered on 'magic'.

what a wonderful welcome you recieved !! fantastic..

in 2004, i had a similar surprise also at hrh.
i was upgraded from a garden view to the club deluxe level.
was sent up 2 free coupons for the movies you can rent for tv viewing in the room, popcorn, sodas, bottle of wine, chocolates, 2 free UO park tickets, nuts, a film cannister tin decoration, cd, discount coupons for merch in the parks and trinkets. did not expect it but was delighted to receive it.

now i am waiting for amity to ask what i did to get those things...:rolleyes1

As you all know, we went on a special trip with my sister and my daughter (and her boyfriend) and we received wonderful upgrades of a villa suite with club access. This was way above and beyond what we paid for and made our week long trip amazing.

i have found that many of the employees at guest services are really great super star employees.

no matter how small or insignificant an item might be that i lost, they have spent the time to help me out.

think of all the sunglasses that are turned in and they log everything that is brought to them. GS found my sunglasses last year !

that might not mean much to any of you reading this, but when you are out of town and lose them, you hate to buy something at the spur of the moment just for the need of them.

it takes me forever to pick out a pair of sunglasses that suit me.

gs are great.

that's because universal gives everyone mummy dust........
and it lasts a lot longer than the pixie stuff....

A few years ago we stayed at RPR and I couldn t get over the friendly employees at Jakes. I seemed to end up in there almost every night of the trip. Before we headed home I stopped in the bar and asked if I could buy a tshirt which at that time they didn t have, and the manager bought me a beer for being such a good customer. Just a beer but to me it was the gesture that made it great.

It is so nice for this thread to be started about UO team members. I recently have started working over there and I love it. so please keep the stories coming.

I got a sticker at MIB for being a Galaxy Defender. It made my day! I even took a picture of it.

when i use the free lockers and over stay the alloted free time, there is always an employee that opens the locker for me.

and they don't ask for the money i owe for the locker........a small gesture that makes me appreciate their kindness even more.

that's mummy dust!

We were staying at the HRH and stopped to get some icecream at Emack & Bolio's before going to the pool. We started telling the woman working there, I think her name was Jan, about this place in Seattle where they would serve you a tiny scoop of coffee ice cream in a shot of expresso. Anyway, we got our ice cream and were out at the pool for a few minutes when Jan comes out there looking for us with carrying two complimentary cups of expresso with tiny scoops of ice cream. Then we talked to her for awhile about Seattle because she visits friends there. She was really nice. Right after we got home I sent an email to the hotel about how great she was.

I am not sure where to put this but anyway. does anyone who has been to UA recently know how much it is to have your hair braided? hair that is about halfway down your back?

I posted this on another thread but when we were at the Cat in the Hat ride my son was very scared to go in. He is eight years old and severely autistic. The girl at the ride out front was named Mousalanda(spelling?) and she saw that he was afraid. She started talking to him and took his hand and walked him through the gift shop and walked him to the back entrance to the ride. She talked to him all the time and reassured him and told him everything would be fine. He got on the ride and loved it! I thought it was so kind of her to take the time with him. She was a very pretty and sweet person and her attitude was outstanding!

A few other people that come to mind were Ester at the stroller rental- we came in contact with her several times and she was wonderful every time!

Kerrye at the cafeteria by the train in Suess Landing was really great with our son also.

Beau and Joan at the conc. lounge at the RPR- where we stayed- were outstanding also. It was by far the best conceirge service we have ever had.

I could go on and on because every person we came across while we were there were incredible- it is the main reason we fell in love with Universal!

Daughter fell over a stroller while we were at MK and cut her face which she later had to have glued. I had 2 other children one a small baby as well as the bleeding toddler and not one employee from Disney came to our aid to take us to the first aid centre. We had to stop and ask someone who pointed us in the direction. As we made our way there we passed quite a few employees who just ignored us no one offered us any assistance.
I felt very angry that nobody came to help they could see she was bleeding and distressed.
Quite a different story when in IOA youngest fell off a chair in croissant Moon while I was ordering breakfast. There was just me and her otherws had gone to do a ride. I didn't see what happened as I was paying at the till and had my back to her. But the waitress there rushed over to her picked her up gave her a hug comforted her then went and got a glove with ice in it to put on her head. She was really nice and because of her prompt action the bump which was quite spectacular was not as bad as it could have been without the ice on it so quickly. My kids never could sit still on a chair.!!!
She could not have been nicer she was fabulous made a real fuss of her.
