You need to get a copy of Purple, Green and Yellow by Robert Munsch. Yes, he's also the author of Love You Forever, but this one will not make you cry. I read it to my first graders early in the year. It's a perfect book about a little girl named Brigid and her experiences with markers.

Can you understand why teachers often ask that young students don't bring markers to school???
