What happens when its your anniversary??

Hi Everyone

This will be our families first trip to WDW in May 2011...The day we arrive (4th May 2011) will be my parents 36th wedding anniversary.

We are staying at POP Resort, i was wondering if they would do anything special for them?? like maybe send up some flowers or a nice bottle of wine to the room?

Hi you might want to repost this to the Disney Resorts board. You will probably get more responses there. This board is for offsite hotels etc.

I wasn't aware of the resorts doing anything special for any occasion. There are thousands of people celebrating every day in WDW. The most I have received "extra" was a birthday card at Hollywood Brown Derby.

Totally forget the bottle of wine. At most they will send up a ballon. Any thing else I would make a point of doing yourself.

We have celebrated our anniversary at WDW the last few years and we only get anniversary pins to wear. The only thing we ever got other than the pins is one year a CM gave us a free Mickey ice cream bar because we were wearing our pins. A lot of CM's (and some guests) go out of their way to wish us a Happy Anniversary which is very nice.

If you have a car there is a publix nearby that make these small wedding cakes so cute.

you can get an anniversary button at city hall in the magic kingdom! they have buttons for certain ocassions you are celebrating...1st trip, Birthday, Annv, etc! have fun!

We've returned to WDW every year for our anniversary since our honeymoon in 2003 and can confirm that if you want something special done for your parents, you'll need to set it up yourself. As others said, you can pick up the "Happy Anniversary" buttons for your parents either at your resort's concierge desk, or at Guest Services at any park which will get them "Happy Anniversary" wishes from some CMs and even some guests. I will say that we did get a free dessert at LeCellier and at California Grill on one trip (it was the Year of a Million Dreams) but they shouldn't expect anything extra as most often everyone is celebrating something at WDW.
