what happens to reservations?

If I sell my contract, what happens to future reservations? Is there a way to designate with disney that only the points for 2021 and beyond transfer with the contract?

You can't close with future reservations. Your broker/title company will make you cancel them to confirm the point counts to list.

There are a couple horror stories about reservations right after close, but before points transfer, especially recently with the points taking so long. The contract should have the amount per point in the contract, if you don't provide the points promised.

You can schedule a delayed closing, I just did this to accomodate a holiday trip.

I have bought and sold with a delayed closed. If you want to keep the trip, that is what you do.

There are some buyers who find these attractive because it allows them to hold off payment. I bought one in June with a November closing. It was great because it allowed me to have extra time to be set with payment!
