What happens to paid in full DP credits

if one guest from a party of four can't take the trip at the last minute? DD26 is on my reservation but may have to go for military training. I have a package that needs to be paid in full by 3/14 and she still doesn't have her orders! If she winds up missing this trip, can we use her paid for credits?

I don't see why not. Only one of you will need to check-in for everyone so you'll get her KTTW card. The bonus is, you can use her card to get extra fastpasses if she does miss the trip.

I hope she gets orders soon! I know all to well how frustrating that is. We're currently waiting on the E-7 promotion list to see if we're still going to be here for two more years or if DH will retire this fall.

I think you could also take her name of the reservation before you go and have the money credited back to your credit card.

I was told by several CM that if the person was coming in late she or he had to wait to get the KTW if dining was on it. Basically you can't use a person's dining plan if they are not there nor will you get a room key with tickets etc if you have the dining plan. They have to be there when you sign in unless they come in late but still have to check them in. It tell you that on the form they send you. Just MHO. If that make sense

Also I was told everyone in the party has to check in to sign the room cards etc. It also tell you that on the travel forms you get in the mail. At least that what mine said everything I go.

I think I'll have to do this before the final payment is due. Maybe I'll be able to add her back in at a later date if she's able to go.

I do realize that, now that you've reminded me! I was really wondering what would happen in the worst case senario, if the package is paid in full and then I find out she can't go! I just will not take that chance.

I think you can add the Dining Plan (and therefore, your daughter to your reservation) up to five days before arrival. Disney pretty much never says "no" to accepting MORE of our money

On the other hand, if you remove her within the 45 days between final payment and arrival, they'll most likely charge you $50 for the change.

Yes: Once you have your group checked in all of the DP meal credits are live and can be used by anyone with a KTTW card for your account/room. So if you wanted to use up all of the snack credits on your first day in the park you could and no one else in the group would have a snack credit available for the rest of the trip. You might not have legs to walk on after pulling that stunt, but that's besides the point.

So if there are 3 adults booked on the room for 3 days you'd have 9TS, 9CS and 9Snack credits to use in any combination. The one thing you could not do is use more than 3TS (or 6 if its a 2TS restaurant) at any given meal. If you tried that you'd clearly be using the plan to feed someone not included in your reservation and that's not allowed on the Dining Plan.

A lot can happen in a week so hopefully you'll get the information you need.
