We're suppose to be leaving for our MAGICal cruise in 6days! There is currently sickness onboard the Magic. What would happen to our points if DCL decides to cancel the 11/30 sailing of the Magic? Would we need to use them by the end of this use year? It's not our fault if DCL cancels!
And what is the possibility of getting a DVC room on WDW property at this late date for 11/29-12-7?

If Disney cancels the cruise, I am sure they will make amends for any points. In the past years when the DVC point specials were annouced for Fall cruise, excess points were refunded to the member and the points retained thier original status. (regular points were returned as regular points. Reservation points were returned as reservation points.)

It is my understanding that they are trying to not cancel the cruise, so I would no worry too much. Currently I think they are offering to reschedule your cruise if you so choose.

I would call MS if you want to be 100% sure.

As for getting a room - I think Dec 1 - 7 would not be a problem at all. I am iffy about the 29th and 30th, but I think you might find something. (DVC rooms are booked, but others may not be)

vbfamily. I appears that the MAgic may have contract the same virus that has plagued HAL this past few weeks. There are rumors that it orriginated from St. Thomas. 100 passenger have been diagnosed with "flu like symptoms". Disney is in the process of de-contaminating the ship as we speak and expect to sail on its next cruise as schedule, just a few hours late.

I was forced to cancel a reservation one day prior to arrival when VB was closed due to Hurricane Floyd.

I was dealing with borrowed points that were soon to expire, and MS was MORE than accomodating in making amends...

YMMV - but I wouldn't worry about it...

Her is my tricky situation.
I bought points from someone who was not able to use his (already dedicated to Concierge) points-last minute cancellation of his plans. I bought the points for my in-laws for a cruise. Upon hearing about the recent virus outbreak my MIL is VERY resistant to go. Will MS convert these points back so that I could use them for either OKW, BCV, WLV or BWV for the same time span that we were to be on the cruise?
We are not on the Magic, but the Wonder 12/5. She(MIL) is still very anxious, not to mention my husband has a weak immune system due to a blood illness.

I think the original DVC member whose points I rented would have to make any changes in the ressies, but would MS be willing at this point?
