for an ADR? My DD and I are having dinner at Chef Mickeys. I am trying to find something for us to do after AK before our ressie. What happens to people who show up early for thier ADR? Are they made to wait or are they seated at the next available table? I guess I am trying to figure out what whould happen if we got the CM early.

Thanks!

Sometimes you can be seated and sometimes you have to wait, it depends on the situation.

We showed up early to a few and were seated right away but others like Le Cellier, CP and Chef Mickeys we had to wait.

We showed up to all of ours this past week about 20-30 minutes early (including Chef Mickey's) and were immediately seated. Which worked out great for us!!!

During our December/January trip, several times we were told that we were too early and to come back later. I mean, this would be if we tried to check in 15-20 minutes early. They would turn us away!:confused3

When we went last year.. the times we did arrive early we were always seated before our ADR time!

Dining tells you to show up 15 minutes before your scheduled time. Your ADR is just to guarantee that they know you are coming and that they'll give you the first available. They/time really is not in stone. You may have to wait anyway.

Per other posters I too have shown up 25 minutes early and told to come back but also, been seated. I think it depends on restaurant and how busy/not they are.

Have a great time!

It really depends sometimes they will seat you ,other times you have to wait. If your ADR is when they open you might have a chance now just a chance of being sitted earlier. Depends on the crowds. Think postive & be happy if they do sit you but if not walk around the shops etc.;)

As others have said, either could happen. I have had both happen to me at the same restaurant. LeCellier told us to come back when we showed up about 30 minutes early on one visit and got us in early on another visit.

Thanks everyone! I am looking forward to our trip. We will show up early but be prepared to walk around the Contemporary a bit before our ADR time!

How early do you think you will get there? If you are really early (like an hour), hop on the monorail! Take a ride through the resorts and back to the CR.

The shops at the Contemporary are very nice. They have some unique items.

What time is your ressie? Should be things to keep you busy. Oh, there are also some great penny smushers at the CR. Have you done those? Cheap souveneirs and some fun finding new ones.

OUr ressie is not until 7:15 - We will be spending the day at AK. I was just concerned about the extra time btwn the 5pm closing of AK and our dinner ressie. I have tried to get an early ADR but none are available. DD does like those penny smushers - thanks for the tip. I will have to make sure I have change LOL!!!

depends on how busy the restaurant is when you arrive (early) - and if the table size you need is available

I like to show up at our nightly ADRs about 15 minutes early. Every time we do that at Chef Mickey's...we get seated immediately! I told DH we have to stop checking in early for CM...they end up seating us right away & then I don't have time to browse in the gift shops there.

I agree. Same with being late.

Stop by early and see if they'll seat you - if they don't just hop on the monorail and ride over to GF. Walk through the hotel and walk over to the Poly, look around the hotel then hop the monorail back to Contemporary.

Thank you for the great idea!
