What Happens If...

I had wondered this and I did wonder if for package booking they were leaving it until too late for the change and use of a code. For room only booking the cutr off is only 5 days before the holiday.

Disney can charge a $50 change fee for this. Once you are within the 45 days and want to make a change that decreases the price, they can charge the fee. If you increase the price (like add dining) then they won't charge a fee.

I thought the 45-day rule only applied if you booked your room online...and if you booked over the phone, you could make changes within 5 days, w/o penalty. This is what I read on mousesavers.com. I've never heard of a $50 charge.

From Mousesavers.com:

"For phone bookings, no change or cancellation fee will be charged if you make your modification more than 5 days before arrival. You can also book online through the Annual Passholder web site, but for online bookings the change/cancellation deadline is 46 days -- a real incentive to book by phone!"

So it appears that you just cant change online you must call. Not sure why that is but you can change without the fee.

A lot depends.

If you booked room only then it's the five days. If you booked a package it's the 45 days. And sometimes even if you "think" you booked room only you get a package with something like "Free" minature golf So read YOUR confirmation for details.
