What happens if you don't cancel?

Just curious- with the new online dining res system, is there any penalty to hold a reservation and never show up?

I am thinking there are lots of restaurants/times booked and not available to us but these parties may never show up- what happens then? Do they then take walk ins??

Disney reservations aren't really reservations where they hold a table open for the party before they reach the restaurant - it's a "skip the queue" system where an ADR gets you the next table to open up for your party size. So if you don't show up, that table will go to the next party of the same size that has an ADR and has checked in. If there isn't a next party, it might go to a walk-in.

There are no penalties for no-showing at any restaurant EXCEPT the ones that require prepayment or a credit card hold.
