What happens if you can't pay onboard account?

Most cruise lines will also take a check onboard, although sometimes there is a limit (I normally don't have one with me, though). Usually this is intended to get you some cash for port expenses. They also have an ATM, but this wouldn't have helped the OP. It is important to check your onboard account frequently during a cruise, and especially the day before the cruise ends so you don't have any surprises. Sometimes you will have charges that are not yours and this needs to be fixed before the last night. With Disney your account is available both on the TV and through the app.

I seem to recall that someone said Disney has removed the ATMs from their ships. Anyone recall?
 

Well, my first DCL cruise was 2008, so it looks like it was removed sometime between 2003 & 2008.

Or, possibly, if it was on deck 1 it was for crew use?
It could have been for the crew.
