What happens if/when ? ? ? WDW bookings continue to drop

We never go because it's expensive for a family of five, so we plan around them, but it also keeps us out of MK for three nights. :headache: If they offered free dining, it would be so nice, I would even forget I was missing anything. :rotfl2:

Yes that was a big deal with us too. we stayed 4 nights Thur-Sun in Oct and 3 nights had the party. We could have been in the park on Sat evening but it was a Spectro night so that would have been crazy, so we went to the party. Unfortunately it rained and alot of shows were cancelled/post poned. The characters that were normally out were in different locations and we missed alot of them. The parties are great, but having 4 per week makes it difficult for MK evenings.
Don't give up on fall rates, i am sure they will be posted in the next few months and i am sure they will come. :goodvibes

POFQ was shut down for quite a while in 2002, they ended up refurbishing it, but it was shuttered due to low occupancy. That was where I originally wanted to stay on my first trip, but I ended up at POR instead.

It was still closed in 2003 because we had our honeymoon booked there and we were called to be told that it wouldn't be available in time. We got quite the nice upgrade for only $10 extra per night to the Boardwalk! :-)

We'll I work for GE and at the end of this month there will be our second layoff taking place. This one will get us up to the almost 400 mark of people being layed off this year for us. It will take at least two or three more layoffs before it hits me, but you know I am sure this is what could happen at the Disney too.

This is not a rumor or anything like that....just my opinion on the type of deal my family could not pass up.

I would love to have a promotion for free dining plus free waterpark and park hopper upgrade.

buy 4, get 3 free. I wish they would allow you to have the hopper at a discount. It is a shame you have to drop another $200 for this option. Would be sweet, if they permitted this as well.

I can see certain resort buildings shutting down for a while and the staff going bye-bye. You can alternate the schedule of the buildings to make sure all rooms get used in the process.

I can see show times being downgraded on all live entertainment. I think the street entertainment will be suspect the most.

Some rides may open later and close earlier. Less CMs will be available on everything. Restrooms will get worse. Service will get worse. It's bound to happen the longer it takes to recover.

I think there will be more discounts, but there will be a cost to it all. I actually think if you want to go, the sooner you do it the better; because, there will be more cutbacks. You will get more bang for your bucks by going now, rather then later.

That's my two cents worth.

I agree! I would rather not have the DEEPER discounts...don't want them to have to stop all the things that make WDW special/magical! I'd rather pay a little more and still have the magic!

We were at WDW in Nov. 2001- right after 9/11. We originally had reservations at POFQ and were called a few weeks before our trip to say they were closing it down (refurbishing it) but it was really b/c of low attendance. We got an upgrade to AKL savannah view for an incredible price.
I hope it doesn't come to that again- we are staying at POFQ again this Nov. with our whole family- we love POFQ!

I would be more concerned about services etc. shuting down then getting a discount! I think some discounts are great - like what is going on right now with the 4/3, extended fl. resident discounts etc. but honestly I hope it doesn't get much worse then this (or better in some peoples opionon.)

I don't think they can give away much more!
