What Happens If I Change the Resorts/Confirmation #, will that mess up my park reservation?

Sorry, this is so new to me for park reservations. If I link my tickets to my resort confirmation, and later I decide to change to a different resort (within Disney), will I lose my park reservation in the system?

From what others have said on the Dis, make your new reservation first then cancel your original reservation so you are never actually not with a resort reservation. That seems to be what works according to people here.

Yes, I currently have a reservation at Swan and I am waitlisted at Saratoga. So if the waitlist comes through, I plan to change the confirmation from Swan to Saratoga, will this cancel out my earlier park reservations? Thanks

If you move from Swan to Saratoga, will your confirmation number change? If it does not sure it will be as seamless as if you move from one Disney resort to another.

Hopefully someone else can chime in who has done this. Are your dates starting to fill up for park reservations? If so, that could make it more challenging if you actually change reservation numbers.
