What happens if I book ME at arrival but then don't use it?

As stated above, what happens? Right now car rental is over $600 for the whole trip, but if I book pick up on hotel blvd for the next day is is $296. I have that reservation now and ME to bring us to disney but if at the last minute car rental goes down what happens to the ME reservation? Thanks D

I don't think anything happens but I am pretty sure you cannot check you luggage for ME (meaning they take it to the resort for you) and then you take a rental car.

You should make a Magical Express reservation if there is even one iota of a chance that you might need it for example you are not absolutely positively sure you want to rent a car.

It is possible to cancel DME at the last minute, but I would recommend not making a six dollar a minute Airfone call from the seatback in front of you on the way into Orlando.

If your notice was so short that you used the yellow DME tags for automagical baggage delivery to your room and you don't need to ride DME, you need to go to the welcoming area, explain that, and get special instructions, which may vary depending on time of day and staffing and how busy with guests DME is at the moment.

I have yet to hear of anyone going to the Welcome area to let DME know that they tagged their bags but aren't riding the bus. I suppose it would be a nice thing to do, but in all reality?? The DME CM isn't going to care.
Will the bags be delivered to the resort room? Most likely. We seldom hear of anyone who tagged their bags, but didn't ride the bus, not getting their bags. There are reasons to not do this, but I am not going into that here. There is a thread for that purpose.

Thanks for the replies. I wanted to know because currently the car is over $600 for the entire stay. $296 if we pick it up the next day closer to disney. But if the car price goes down I would then want it from the airport. And I forgot about the bags being tagged. Glad you mentioned it. I would prefer to call to cancel just wasn't sure how late a great car rent might be offered. D

OP, we are in the same situation. I have a rental car booked but I also have ME reservations. I don't know if I'll keep the car or save a couple hundred dollars.
