Where is it? :confused3 Is it no longer available? :confused3

I can not find any Post Alpha-Bits cereal or Alpha-Bits with Marshmallows. I've been looking for it for the past few weeks and none of the major grocery stores around here seem to have any.

I've googled it and nothing says it been taken off the market. Can you still find it at your grocery store?

I'll have to look tomorrow.

How about Count Chocula? None of the stores around here have it, does anyone get it by them still?

We have Count Chocula still and around Halloween we get Frankenberry and ****erry. I'm pretty sure we have Alphabits but I'll have to look this weekend. I usually buy General Mills cereal these days to get Box Tops for Education.

And how about Shredded Wheat, both the small size and the giant brillo pad sized servings? Not the ones frosted with sugar either but the plain old dull stuff?

And has anyone noticed the consistency of Cheerios and Kix is different than they used to be? :p

Oh man, a cereal complaint thread, THANKYOU! :teeth:

To answer your questions, nope, haven't noticed Alpha Bits in years! And Count Chocula? Same thing, haven't really looked for it though.

It just seems odd that I can't find it in any of the stores. I'd love to know if it's still out there somewhere!

I've found Alpha-Bits at our Publix - went searching for it for alphabet awareness for the kids - and it tastes good too! ;) And it was very very hard to find. But it's there - on the bottom shelf.

I hear ****erry is sold at Spencer's stores...ask Pam!

Do you know if it's the regular Alpha-Bits? I just went on Amazon.com, (they really do have everything, well almost), and you can buy Alpha-Bits cereal, but apparently it isn't the "real" stuff. It's whole grain Alpha-Bits with, get this, NO SUGAR!!!!!! There are a couple of reviews posted and both reviews give it a bad rating. They liken the taste to styrofoam peanuts and say it's nothing like the old Alpha-Bits.

I can't even find that kind either. Not that I want it. No sugar?!?! Blah!!!!!!

Yep...they re-did Alpha Bits with NO sugar...it tastes like REALLY BAD Cheerios. I was so sad that my dd would never get to know them!! However, we have found a "substitute". An organic cereal maker sells "Clifford the Big Red Dog" cereal. It tastes almost EXACTLY like Alpha Bits. It is certainly better than nothing!!

I bought a box of the no sugar Alpha Bits a few months ago when I was really watching my food intake. I concur with Beca, they are awful. I had one bowl and the full, stale box is still in the pantry. I can't bring myself to discard a full box of cereal. Maybe I should contact Post and let them know I was dissatisfied. I'm all for taking out the sugar, but they have zero flavor on their own.

The new Alpha-Bits is very bad. Why can't I decide for myself if I want junk cereal every once in a while. Why not offer the old version and the new version? Alpha-Bits used to be my favorite non-healthy cereal. I only ate it maybe twice a year, but if I want to indulge myself twice a year, I should be able to!

We still have original Alpha Bits at one store here. Not sure why the bigger chain, Giant, doesn't carry them. I will say that I've adjusted to substituting Honeycomb and while not quite the same taste, is pretty close.

We also still have regular shredded wheat, although why anyone would eat it is beyond me, lol. Give me the frosted minis anytime tho.

It's my job to track these kinds of things for work.

Alpha Bits is still going strong, both with and without marshmallows. All of the "Monster" cereals are also still being made and sold.

Giant shredded wheat is still out these as well, though it moves very slowly and isn't carried at a lot of stores due to its lack of popularity.

Today I checked out the cereal aisle at our local Super Walmart and NO ALPHA-BITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :confused3 I did see all the "monster" cereals, though.

At Halloween we bought Boo Berry, Franken BErry and Count Chocula, however I had not seen them since. Maybe they are out just around that time.
As for the Alpha Bits , to be honest i don't think that i have ever had it. I will definatley have to check the next time i am at the store. Have you tried Walmart or Target for it?

You've sparked my curiosity about Alpha-Bits. I've seen it at stores, but have never tried it. If my walmart carries it, I think I'll try it! :p popcorn::

Looks like late last year they changed the formula. I don't know that you can get it NOT sugar free because the article states it replaces all other varieties of the cereal. :confused3
http://www.kraft.com/newsroom/05182005a.html I think I still want to try it out though. :)

I noticed awhile back that they had stopped carrying the regular Alpha-Bits at our local store, too and they only had the no-sugar version. Monday when I went in, I saw that they were clearancing out the yucky version to get rid of it, LOL.
