According to USA Today:

"Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party won't be happening at Walt Disney World this year.
Instead, the Magic Kingdom will host a new, limited-capacity nighttime event called Disney Very Merriest After Hours.
The event will run on select nights from Nov. 8 through Dec. 21 and will not be covered under regular park admission.
Guests must purchase special tickets to the four-hour festivities, which offer shorter lines to 20 select attractions, lots of holiday fanfare and a special fireworks show, "Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks."

Similar to what they've done with the Halloween party. Adjustments are being made given the current situation. We're just rolling with it. We have the Boo Bash on the first night it runs, so we'll see. For Villains After Hours (which is what the Boo Bash sounds like, except with trick or treating), they also promised the shorter lines. That wasn't the case at all. Space, Haunted and Pirates were all at least 30 minutes. So those three alone (plus the walking between them and so on) took up most the event. These will not be as good as the parties they are replacing, we know that. But hey, we'll still go to check them out and to be in the atmosphere. It's that kind of year...

It was bought out under new management, renamed and put back on the market for a higher price and less goods!
