What happened to cute little Lizzie Mcguire?

Sorry if this is a repeat thread, but I just saw the clip from a new movie with Hilary Duff called War, Inc. and one scene really surprised me.

All I could think was Yikes and Ouch!

My girls and I just recently rewatched the Lizzie McGuire movie and I guess that's how I still think of her. Ummm, guess not. LOL

I loved the Lizze McGuire movie...I'm a 33 yr old who has watched it everytime with my 12DD.. lol..
That said...at least she hasnt turned out like the other girls I USED to like....

My 9yr old still watches Lizzie McQuire, and I still enjoy watching it with her.

I watched a biography of Hilary Duff once, and I was really impressed with her. She does a lot of charity work, and has such a wonderful relationship with her family, especially her sister.

I personally don't see her in Playboy, and maybe I'll be posting someday to say I was wrong, but she doesn't seem like she would be interested in that. I did watch that clip, but there are tons of actors/actresses that take roles that seem shadey, and we still love them. Hilary's not a little girl anymore, and I'm sure it's hard for her to have people see her as Hilary, and not Lizzie. Miley Cyrus is going to have the exact same problem some day

It's a problem that happens with child stars - they have to prove themselves all over again to show they can handle adult roles or they become "has beens" (I hate that term). It doesn't mean that she's heading for playboy - it means that she's willing to enter the arena and prove herself worthy. It worked for Jodi Foster.

Then she did The Accused where she got her academy award. If you recall, the Accused is the movie where she plaed a rape victim.

I think because of the sexual content of the scorpion is well.. different. Because of the content of that, I can see how editors of Playboy and such would want her.

It would be shocking... and with this scene, I think it is all about shocking.

Looking at Jodi Foster's filmography on IMDB, it seems like she didn't take a "long hiatus" as she has a film listed for each year. I am sure they were not high-profile movies, but I didn't see a break in there.
I know she went to college, but it appears she didn't abandon acting completely while pursuing her education.

Jodi also was not only a cute Disney kid - she was in Taxi Driver and wasn't she a creepy psycho-killer little girl in something (maybe I am confusing her with someone else)?
And for Pete's sake, she was the vampish chantuse Tellulah in Bugsy Malone (with Scot Baio - anyone remember that?)
Has Hillary Duff done anything "non-cutesy" thus far? If not, it will be harder for HD to make the transition and be taken seriously as an adult actress.

I never liked her sweet and innocent appeal. I saw her 2 or 3 years ago on MTV Spring Break show singing on stage. She was grinding, on the floor, the whole bit.

She did some pretty intense roles beforehand - remember the Taxi or Taxi Driver one? (can't remember the name, and too lazy to look it up) and she took a few years off to go to Yale, but not a huge break.

I haven't seen the Hillary Duff movie, just the one clip, so I have no idea on how the scene fits into the big picture. It's obvious from the clip though that she doesn't want to be type cast so I give her credit for taking the chance. Now we'll just have to see if her acting ability can carry it off.

Hillary Duff had gotten some seriously BAD dental work done. She seems to have had some kind of plastic surgery badly done as well.

I know people's looks change as they age, but sheesh...she started NOT resembling herself about 3 or 4 years ago when she had all that dental work done.

She looks freaky-scary to me, like she's going the Priscilla Presley route.

Hillary Duff is an adult and the clip is her playing a role in a movie. It doesn't bother me at all, and I wouldn't judge her by that 10 second clip.
I wouldn't let my Lizzy Mcquire loving dd see the grown up Duff in movies, though.
As for the comment about her posing in playboy, thats just ridiculous. There have been many actresses who have done worse things in movies and never landed themselves in playboy. The young woman is an actress, she is not the character she plays in the movies.

I still think she's a very beautiful girl, although she looks grown up now. I don't get why some here enjoy tearing down celebrities.

A little OT, but Melina (from Lizzie McGuire) was on Ghost Whisperer last Friday. She looks just the same, only taller lol. So pretty.

Hilary Duff does look a little odd now, I agree.
