What happened to Cast Lanyard pins?

I need some clarification here.

There used to be special Cast Lanyard pins that could only be found on CM lanyards and were unavailable for purchse, right? The back said "cast lanyard series" or something to denote it as such. At disneypins.com they had checklists for these series.

Then they became "hidden mickey" pins. They added a small mickey icon to the front of the pins to make them easier to spot (I suppose?) and you could purchase one to get you started.

What's the next step in this evolution? I used to trade for cast lanyard pins and the hidden mickey ones, anything I couldn't just purchase really. Are they still doing this? Is there such a thing as pins only available froma CM lanyard?

Sort of.

There are still sets of "Hidden Mickey" pins at both DL and WDW that are available through trading with cast members. There are also "mystery packs" of Hidden Mickey pins for sale - $10 for 2 pins, but not ALL of the Hidden Mickey designs are available in mystery packs.

There are also "completer" pins that you can buy for $1 if you spend $30. Those pins add an extra design to 6 of the current Hidden Mickey sets.
