I haven't been on here much since my trip last December. On that trip DH and I did are normal late night snack at Casey's and sat in the back on the bleachers and watched the sports cartoons while eating. Well, we snuck in a short trip this past weekend and as usual headed to Casey's at the end of the night. We got our hot dogs and toppings and headed to the back, where it's now just a room of tables. The bleachers and the TV showing the sports cartoons are gone. We were really disappointed. Does anyone know when they made this change? It was less than 3 months between our trips.

People complained there wasn't enough indoor seating excapt for the bleachers. Heard it on here quite a few times. So, disney added indoor seating.

It was a neat little setup, but more than a few times my wife and I found ourselves (and several other folks) dining on the bleachers because there was absolutely nowhere else to sit within fifty yards of Casey's (especially during MSEP). And if people are going to be eating on the bleachers, why not just put tables in there?

I hope they left the cartoons on, but from what you say they didn't, and I'll miss seeing the old setup for nostalgic purposes, but all and all Disney has to make changes in response to the increasing crowds.

Just reopened last weekend. this was done to add more seating capacity. Expect more of this as the park continues to get high attendance.

Not only due to higher attendance... FP+ for lunch reservations is coming to "select QS restaurants" according to an email I received from Disney Destinations advising me my 180+10 window was open to make ADRs. They will be able to be made at 60 days out...

Not sure when it's scheduled to happen, but I'm guessing since it was in my 180 day dining email - I will be able to book FP+ for QS lunch when my 60 day window opens in June...

Why else put that info in my email? lol

Right now it's only Be Our Guest. There's no indication that the FP lunch will be rolling out to any other restaurants yet. But I'd expect it first in large capacity places like Pecos Bill or Cosmic Ray's, not anyplace small like Casey's.

This is directly cut & pasted from the dining email dated February 28/14 from Disney Destinations...

that doesn't change anything, "select restaurants" could still mean only one or two. In fact, the use of that terminology indicates that it will not be ALL restaurants.

Or it could mean more then one or two. I'm not unfamiliar with the terminology.. just sharing what I felt could be relevant to the conversation.

I guess we wait & see... lol.

What? No, I loved those bleachers! Crud muffins. They were doing refurb while I was there in February '14, but I didn't think they'd be doing THAT. :sad1:

Bummed to see the bleachers and TV go. Heaven forbid they got rid of just a smidgeon of the retail space next to Casey's to make room for seating.

While we didn't love the loss in theming with the removal of the bleachers, it was the removal of the cartoons that really upset us. It really added to the unique charm of the place. I feel like they keep removing nostalgic Disney cartoons from the parks.

Sorry to resurrect a zombie thread, but we just got back from a quick weekend trip and I was surprised and sad to see this change!

I understand the need for more seating (though they're taking away seating in other busy places...EPCOT Germany anyone?). But I wish they would have at least left the TV with the classic Disney sports cartoons playing. A TV in the wall doesn't take up any more space than a blank wall. It feels so blah in there now. :sad2:

There's no ROI on showing old cartoons.
