What happened to Body Wars @ Epcot!??!?

Star Tours doesn't bother me in the least, but Body Wars did sometimes make me just a little green around the gills. They use the same ride vehicle, but if I recall correctly, the motion on Body Wars was a bit more herky-jerky than Star Tours. I think the main reason why I got a little queasy on Body Wars was not the motion but the movie - seeing the inside of a human body, even simulated in such an abstract fashion, was not the most pleasant experience at WDW.

Still, I rode it quite a few times. Why? Elizabeth Shue + tight white jumpsuit = MUST-SEE ATTRACTION.

YMMV.
Seeing the inside of a human body didn't upset me (I'm a nurse and was able to watch CSI while eating supper even the first year it was on - a skill not appreciated by my family).
Anyway, I think the motion on Body Wars was much more jerky than Star Tours and there were a lot more small jerky movements.
Still, I was sad to see that building looking so sad when we were at WDW in October.

Here's a comparison:

the only attraction there that has run without a sponsor for any length of time is Spaceship Earth.

Ellen's Energy Adventure has been sponsor-less for at least two years now.

And I don't recall seeing a sponsor plaque on The Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion.
I think The Living Seas (former name ) was operated sponsor-less for 5+ years, too.

Queasiness comes into play when the body (inner ear) senses one kind of motion and the eye sees another. Its why some folks get ill when reading a book while riding in a car. (Body feels motion, eye does not see it.)
I always thought the motion of the capsule in BW did not quite match the film's action, and think that was the real problem with the motion sickness on it.

BTW, Universal Studios had a similar problem with the "Back to the Future" attraction when it premiered. Lots of guests were getting motion sickness. They had to spend a lot of time carefully re-syncing the motion of the "Delorian" ride vehicles to the animated motion in the film images.

i agree it is a bit out dated, nd could have used some rehab. but i still enjoyed it. maybe you guys got sick because you are a little squeamish?

Nah, I got violently ill on Body Wars and I'm a RN in the OR and see lots of gory things on a daily basis. So, it has nothing to do with squeamish, I just think some people get dizzy from those kind of rides-Star Tours makes me a little dizzy but not as much as Body Wars did. I actually threw up afterwards and that was the first time ever that happened to me on a ride..Didn't even get that sick on Mission Space orange.:confused3

So does anyone know if they plan to renovate or pull down the pavilion, I hate seeing empty buildings just falling apart.

They use the building for private, corporate and public gatherings.

There are just no open active attractions in it.

No long-term plans have been announced.

Just my $.02, but it looks bad for Disney to have buildings that are run down and unused. Kind of like the trip to the local shopping center that has empty stores and "For Rent" signs. It seems like they make enough money that they could do something with an entire Epcot attraction other than make it a welcome center a few weeks a year.

They'll get right on that.

I hear they're having a meeting about it over at the Odyssey Restaurant.
They moved the meeting over there from the Epcot Millenium Village because that space is the site of the discussion of grass-cutting at Pop Century "Legendary Years."

Luncheon to follow at Aunt Polly's at MK.

Those needing transportation should board the Discovery River Boats at Animal Kingdom.

(I heard this while visiting the ABC Superstar TV theater at DHS.)

Right. They used it as the Festival Center for last year's Food & Wine, and beginning next month it will be used to host the "Great American Gardeners" sessions for the Flower & Garden Festival. They'll probably continue to use it for these types of things, at least in the short term. The pavilion's not being left to just fall apart...for now.

Like Neverland.

"Its not on any chart.
You must find it with your heart."

No wonder I missed them. I was waiting for them at the Adventureland Veranda.

When they opened in Dec 06 not enough people went in it. They claim it's too off the beaten path and no one knows it's there so it's not worth the money to run it. So it's basically just sitting there rotting. I guess the projection system for BW is really outdated, and if they re-opened it they would probably have to change it over. Nevermind all the other insane technical issues they would have.
