What Happened in the Mall Bathroom....

Why people feel the need to run their mouths any and EVERYwhere nowadays totally perplexes me.... :confused3

It's so nice to hear one side of an inane conversation literally EVERYWHERE YOU GO!

This thread reminds me of a public restroom issue I once had. There were a couple of women in my office that had a lengthy conversation while holding the bathroom door open (i.e., one was entering and the other was exiting) instead of talking in the hallway. The bathrooms are right near the elevator bank, so I ended up sitting in the stall holding my pee while waiting for the conversation to end. I kept waiting for them to take a breath so I could ask them to shut the door to no avail!

Well, I have to admit I have talked on the phone when in the bathroom, but never in a public one and never willingly. Unfortunately, the lock on our bathroom door is not that good and every so often my kids have decided that my moment of privacy is trumped by their need to arrange a play date. :rolleyes1

Really and truly I don't need anyone hearing my noises but me because as my uncle told my DH, "you know the honeymoon's over when your wife goes **** while you're showering." I think in the modern age this may also apply to phone calls.. :rotfl2:

I wouldn't talk on the cell phone while in a public restroom, but that's just me. I would feel....odd, I guess. If someone in the stall next to me does, I guess that's their business....as long as the person on the other end of the phone doesn't mind hearing bathroom noises.

While this isn't something I would do in a public restroom, it wouldn't bother me a bit if someone in the stall next to me was, I'm very much a live and let live type person. That being said, I have done it at home, sometimes with the other person's knowledge..sometimes not ;)

As for the heavyset comment..I would fall into that category, and have yet to sound like a obscene caller (breathing heavily) or to grunt and groan pulling my clothing up. When you're going to say something that stereotypical, by the way, you may as well just go ahead and say fat while you're at it.

So you were in a stall but wouldn't pee because the door to the hallway was open?????? What exactly were you worried about?

I needed to use the bathroom at Target last year and a woman was having a very loud conversation on her cell phone in the last stall. As I was washing my hands, her door suddenly flew open and she had to tell the person to hold on while she waddled to the door with her pants around her ankles to pull the door shut!

If you go shopping with a friend or out to lunch, don't you ever tlak to each other while in the stalls. I know I have. It is the same thing. I hear women and teen talking all the time to their friends in the next stall. Now I wouldn't use my cell phone. I would end up dropping it in the toilet and I don't use my cell phone much anyway.

That calls for repeated flushings from your stall.
:thumbsup2

It's just disgusting to listen to, esp. heavyset people who grunt and breath heavily as they try to juggle phone, skirt, and pantyhose. The acoustics are so bad, you can't understand the caller anyway.

PANTYHOSE?? ROFLMAO---don't only 80+ year old women wear those things?????

I am not bothered by people who talk on the phone while using the public bathroom however, I have a co worker who brushes her teeth while in the stall. :faint:

And she uses an electric toothbrush! Now that grosses me out a bit.

ROFLMAO---you SURE its an electric toothbrush you hear humming in there???

Hey everyone.........OP here.
What a great mix of responses, thanks!

I am shocked to find out that others talk on the phone while going to the bathroom. I thought for sure the person in the stall next to me was the ONLY person in the world who did that!

The whole "brushing your teeth" in the stall just grosses me out. Does she use the toilet water to rinse?
