What groceries would you have delivered (to resort)?

Eeep! It's my first time posting, so hopefully this is in a good place. If not please tell me.

I'm planning to do quite a bit of non-restaurant dining during my (just booked!!) stay at AKV next October. I want to save money but also having done the dining plan in the past, both the BF and I felt like we just couldn't eat that much food.

I'd like to have groceries delivered to cover breakfast and and lunch in the parks and I'm brainstorming on what to order. I'm a bit stumped because I'm gluten free, and all the GF bread products etc cost a fortune.... so I try to avoid if I can. So that rules out the obvious - sandwiches (although I'll cave and order Udi's GF bread if I can't think of an alternative).

What types of groceries would you bring with you or order in from GG or Wego? Do you find yourself with stuff left over?

For some more context, it's me (27 disney girlfriend - is that DG? - and 33 slightly less Disney boyfriend) and we are staying in a studio so no full kitchen.

This is what we get:
Bottled water, Gatorade, juice, coffee, milk, cereal, cheese, Bread, peanut butter, yogurt, nuts, snacks (chex mix, etc). Fruit, plastic cups, plastic bowls, plastic utensils, paper towels, coffee filters.

Have fun!!!

Water, milk, cold cereal, fresh fruit (bananas, apples, oranges), fruit cups (pineapple, peaches), yogurt, sliced turkey, PBJ jar, cereal bars, danish pastry or cinnamon rolls, diet gingerale, wheat thins, baby carrots, hummus, wine or Mike's Lemonade (write in beer/wine and anything else you can't find listed under "Comments" at the end of order and they will shop for it - we us GG). I usually pack paper plates, napkins, cups, bowls and cutlery.

If you include tip with your order you don't need to be there to receive the order. It's good to do even if you do plan to be there because I've missed the call before when I didn't hear my phone out by the pool, etc. They give you a two hour window. I try to buy only as much as we'll use but have taken cereal home before. Liquids stay.

Have a great time! :goodvibes

I'm not sure if we can help as we don't have a gluton allergy. but these are some of the food items that we have purchased (when staying in a DVC or FW cabin):

microwave meals/frozen pizza
cereal
pastries
bananas
hamburgers and buns (for BBQing when at FW)
snack packs of cookies or granola bars for the parks
baby food/snacks and formula
coffee
milk
water
juice boxes
soda

We love, love Garden Grocer! Can't say enough good things about them! I love that they will drop off your order with bell services and it is there when you arrive. We usually get those little boxes of cereal for the kids, milk, juice, chips, crackers, pudding cups, cookies, fruit, pastries, etc. Basically breakfast items and snacks for afternoon/evening. Well worth the fee, IMO!!

We have done trips where we cook breakfast and dinner for 10 people so some of our lists have been extensive (though nobody was GF). The basics always include:

cereal
milk
oranges
apples
bananas
grapes
bread (sometimes we take our own to make sure it was weight watchers friendly)
Bagels
granola bars
Soda
Water bottles
Gatorade

If you are wanting to take lunch into the parks, I would include small bags of chips, a granola bar or sweet, etc.

We have used WeGoShop and love the personal service they provide. One year on the way to the airport the night before we were flying out (10:30 p.m.) I texted her to see if she could add the eye drops I forgot to pack. I was hoping she would see my text in the a.m. She replied immediately and was able to add those to my list. I like their flexibility better than GGs set list of items.

Since you have so much time, I would just keep a notepad stuck on your fridge. Then, as you eat/prepare gluten free foods that would work in Disney, write them down and make a list based on that.

Breakfast shouldn't be too hard for you. Scrambled or hard boiled eggs and fruit are easy enough to prepare.

As far as lunch goes, if I was you, I would probably cave and order gluten free crackers, bread or wraps so you can stick with a basic sandwich or cracker, meat and cheese lunch. That's probably going to be the easiest, basic lunch. In addition, it's easy to make and prepare salads or order a rotiserrie chicken and make a fruit salad to go with it.
