I just rec'd the docs for our Dec 6th Magic cruise and once again our travel agent gave us a lovely gift. The first year she gave us a Disney Cruise Line photo album, last year she gave us a couple of disposable water proof cameras and this year we rec'd another wonderful photo album. Do all agents give gifts for booking your cruise with them?

Our Travel agent had a gift waiting in our stateroom when we arrived. It was a large Beach Bag filled with soda, potato chips, candy, jellybeans, cookies, etc. I can't remember everything. We were quite surprised and appreciative. It did not come from Shirley or the Disney website. I always wondered who made it up and delivered it to the ship. There was no tag identifying the company it came from. I was thinking perhaps Disney offers a different gift selection for travel agents?

We got the DCL Memory Box from DU. I believe it is giving if they 8 or more bookings.

We received nothing neither. I was VERY disappointed since it was our 10 year anniversary.

When we were on our Honeymoon ..and we had cruised with another cruise line...boy were we sever poiled from our travel agent.

Not this time..not even a card.

If we cruise other than Disney, our travel agent always has a beautiful flower arrangement waiting for us in the cabin. On my first DCL trip, we had used dvc points, so had used the agent. A nice bottle of wine was in the cabin from DVC. On my second trip with the mouse, also on points, NOTHING was in the room waiting....and we didn't know about Castaway Club, and the expected gift. On my third trip, again on points, the Castaway Club big tote/gym bag was waiting.....again nothing from DVC.

My husband and I are booked in March, so we will see what happens. And soon I will be booking with some girlfriends, paying cash this time....so then I can see what a AAA travel agent gives for bon voyage.

We booked w/ AAA-Potomac and got two DCL beach towels sent with our docs.

(one per room booked, and it was some promotion at the time. I don't think they do it always).

Favorite All-time Check-in gift was at the Grand floridian, we checked in one time and there was a Chocalte Mickey Mouse wearing a White chocaolate tuxedo, and in front of him were 5 HUGE chocalate covered strawberries, that were also sporting white chocolate tuxedo "jackets".

A note said It was a gift of the manager, and I'm sure it was a mistake. We called and they said it was ours!.

Booked through a local Travel Agent last time and received a bottle of wine in our room.

In August 2004 we will not have any gift waiting as we booked directly through Disney.

Jim,
I think you just broke the world record for finding different ways to spell "chocolate"

We have never recieved anything other than the CC gift on our 2nd cruise. First cruise(1999) was booked through a Cruise Holidays travel agent, second (2001) through DU. Our third is booked with DU so we will have to wait and see.

We didn't get any gift in our staterooms from our TA and we booked three cat. 6's. However, we did get $300 shipboard credit.

I guess techincally our free upgrade was our gift...hehehehehe :)

We have never booked our Disney cruise vacation through a travel agent....see.....I think half the fun of the vacation is making the arrangements and taking care of it all by myself. So I guess DCL is my travel agent, and this cruise I got the $200.00 onboard credit, 10% off the cruise and a 3 category upgrade. Thanks DCL....

Wow, I am not happy to hear that...when I booked it said that if 8 families booked there would be a gift...I hope they don't break that promise, its one of the reasons I went with them!

I book with DCL then transfer ovre to cruisetraveloutlet.com - Bill gives me a 7% rebate on the cost of my cruise. That's about $150-200 each cruise.

Highly recommend him and his organization for everything.
