We watch lots of diney movies, read disney books, make a plan book, and plan our trip. Tomight dd and i are going to see tangled for the 3rd time lol

We do the same.....lots of Disney movies & music. We also watch slideshows from our other trips. I'm an uber-planner, so I also have a 3 ring binder going with pictures, schedules, menus, etc that we will be doing on the trip. We always have a countdown of some sorts going......usually a calendar, but one year I did a chainlink that went all the way down our hallway & back.....it was crazy!!!!

Love the countdown idea!!!!!

I usually spend the five or six months before a trip scouring the stores and discounters for neat little things that would be very expensive at the park--like autograph books, pens, and things like that. When my daughter was younger, I'd always wait anxiously for November 1st to buy Disney princess costumes for Christmas and Disney trips.

I pop in my Musical History of Disneyland CD, and other wonderful Disney Music as I go through my trip documents to make sure I have everything, or watch Disney Movies, bake mickey head shaped cookies, and even get together with the people who I am travelling with and have coffee and talk about things to do and what we are looking forward to the most.

We love to do countdowns. Here's a picture of two we've done in the past. I'm hoping to surprise Ayden this time so I'm missing out on doing one this time. :)

We have a countdown chart with the number of days left until we go. Every day, the kids color in a square, to count down/show the number that's left.

We also watch our latest Disney Vacation planning DVD.

And random Disney videos.

I'm a big planner so I have about 4 different word documents that I am preparing and updating that I'll be printing out and adding to my Disney folder, with a schedule, menus, things to do and see, show info, etc etc!

When I was a kid, the night before my family would go to Disneyland I'd always watch...I do NOT know how this started, as neither is a Disney movie...either "Grease" or "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker".

Almost 30 years later, it's STILL a night before tradition :rotfl:

We watch a lot of youtube clips of the rides. It helped ds prepare for our first trip (he has sensory issues) and it just became a tradition. We also do a count down and look at our old pictures. Maybe this year we will do a chain. That looked really cute!

We do that too but your on it before I am! LOL I am going to be putting all DD's autographs in her scrapbook, so I took out the old ones and she will use the same book as last time. I got her costume like over half price a week ago! I was so excited lol

We had Mickey head shaped chicken nuggets last night for dinner lol.. But I should make cookies! That would be perfect to bring in the park too!!

HAHA! That's funny! but they do have that Michael Jackson ride thing now :)

I made a slideshow of our last trip.. I'm going to have to find it. LOVED the chain idea too! DD is going to have a busy month and a half lol

How does the chain work?

We are also always on youtube, looking at rides. The kids love it!

We start the chain with the number of days until our trip. We remove one link every night...the shorter the chain, the shorter the wait till DL.

Obviously months out gets a little crazy and can get old pretty quick.

Love the youtube videos...those are the best. I love watching surprise Disneyland trips. Look up Disneyland suprise on youtube. :goodvibes

I do countdowns for my computer - my hubby did one on his this year. I am building a count down board for our trip - i am making it so that I can use it over and over. I also check forums and see what I might have missed before. I try to find things that we can do at the parks that we haven't done before and of course watch Disney movies.

I am always checking the forums. Thank goodness for internet everywhere I go lol

Besides doing count downs. I buy cute little things and give them to DH as the days get closer. It kind of gets him more excited for the trip. Some times I wrap them and put a cute note.

aww! Thats cute!

Lie, lie, lie .... This is my dd's 3rd trip to disneyland and hopefully the 3rd surprise trip. We fly into Vegas (way cheaper) and will meet my parents (also a surprise). We are then going to Disneyland for 4 days which is also a surprise as my daughter thinks we are going to Vegas for a week!

Other than elaborate lying :rolleyes1 , we have been watching disney movies, looking at old pictures, watching youtube videos, disney planning cd, and family videos all under the pretense of talking about our trip to Florida next winter.
