What food/drinks don't agree with your digestive system?

Inspired by grinningghost's reply on my banana poll!

I love cucumbers and melons but they give me such bad indigestion.

Any drink like coke, makes me burp nonstop so I hardly ever touch it now!

Anything with sugar alcohols, like lactitol, malitol, xylitol, etc.

All those new low-carb goodies - forget 'em! They just screw up my system.

At my age (50) a lot of foods/drinks don't agree with my stomach!!!:p

Here's a few:

pop
too many eggs
strawberries esp jam
ice cream
Taco Bell food
greasy hamburgers

edy's ice cream. i can eat any other kind of ice cream - no problem. anything from edy's, even soft serve, makes me violently ill.

Yep, those sugar alcohols KILL me, too!

Also:

McDonald's food
White Castle Food
Krystal's food... MOST fast food except ChickFilA

and for some strange reason I can't eat hamburgers that have been frozen, only fresh. Takes DAYS to get out of my system! This is probably the reason I have such a hard time with fast food.

Green peppers--particularly raw. This started when I was pregnant (14 years ago!) I'd never had heartburn before--I went to the doctor complaining and he just told me "Duh. Don't eat them and be grateful that's the only thing that's ever bothered you!"

So tickled that my indigestion inspired a thread!:D

I also have a terrible time with real ice cream (especially milk shakes for some reason) and onion rings.

Food from the OUTBACK restaurant. I love the taste but there is something that they must sprinkle on everything as it all has this "taste" to it.

Kills me and my husband.:(

Homemade Mac & Cheese (the boxed stuff doesn't bother me) and Alfredo Sauce. It seems that an overbundance of cheese does bad things to me. Fast food makes me sick sometimes too.

KFC has had a negative effect on my family since I was in jr. high. My mom, sister and I can eat it, but hours later we would be fighting over the facilities. Now my kids are the same way. It doesn't bug me that much because I now know that even though it tastes good it is HORRIBLE for me.

I have Crohn's disease... so more than normal people =) I am in the newly diagnosed/getting treated stages, so I am eating things in small portions, seeing how they affect me, and then deciding whether I can handle them again. Plus, some things may be more digestible when I'm in remission... which Im not right now.

ALL fresh veggies are out. Lettuce is out, too. I have found spicy stuff doesn't settle well, either. Like rotel tomatos with peppers and the like. Most other stuff is worth the side effects =)

Papa Murphy's pizza. I can eat any other pizza, but not that kind. And that is a bummer because it is so cheap.

DH can only eat premium ice cream--like Schwann's and Edy's. Think he is faking that so I won't buy the cheap stuff??? And can't eat it if it has that fake chocolate stuff in it.

I found out at Christmas this year I definitely can't have mulled cider. I was so sick. I can have cold cider, just not mulled cider.

Green peppers--particularly raw.

I just, about 5 minutes ago, got done eating the equivalant of about 1 large green pepper, sliced, with salt.

I just LOVE them, and would be so bummed if I couldn't eat them anymore.

For me, not too much really...but certain foods leave me feeling bloated, like cucumbers and some Chinese...I think the MSG has ill effects on my system.

Green peppers. They taste good, but I must avoid them.:D

Just had some Ice Cream about 1:00pm and am paying for it now! ::yes::

Mango, anything made with nutrasweet(makes me deathly ill and the effects last over several weeks), greasy food, anything with sugar alcohols ( I can have one candy but any more and I pay for it)

What will upset my stomach dreadfully is hypoglycemia. Ouch no fun. And I hate crashing too.

A couple more are lettuce and onions. I like them both but the indigestion tablets come out after I've eaten them!

I don't eat much fast food stuff - very rarely do I get a Burger King. I do eat alot of it on holiday on Orlando though! ;)
