Off Property Stuff

Planning a 10 day Trip in Jan 26... Split Stay at Poly and OKW(with a Beach Club waitlist) 5 Adults, 2 Kids (8 and 13) Not crazy picky eaters but... Kids...LOL Will have rental cars so Off Property is a thing.. We are planning 3 or 4 on Property ADR's but would like to do more off Property than on. Looking for suggestions of like Steak houses, Seafood, Family type places etc (maybe hidden gems etc) maybe within 20 mins of the "Disney Bubble"

Any suggestions, greatly appreciated. We're already planning Gators Dockside (ate here last year and loved it)

I suggest looking at the Flamingo Crossings area, 192 near Animal Kingdom and Celebration. I am local...we just ate at Celebration Brewing Company and it was great. We also love Celebration Towne Tavern.

If you're looking for a steakhouse bull and bear at the Waldorf is great. Another spot I'd recommend would be Amatista at Sapphire Falls at Universal Orlando. My hidden gem recommendation if you like sushi is about 35-40 min out from the bubble and is called Kabooki Sushi- East Colonial. Some of the best sushi I've ever had and worth the trip outside the bubble if you really like sushi.

If your arrival day allows for it, I would consider the Nipa Hut in Kissimmee, less than 20 mins away from Poly. It’s a family style Filipino restaurant that serves legit Filipino specialties like barbecue, pancit noodles, lechon (a type of crispy pork), adobo (a vinegar based dish with chicken), sinigang (a soup dish with soft tender pork) and loads more. If you have picky kids in your party, they also offer chicken tenders and fries too. Very nice hole in the wall restaurant, and it’s locally owned too.

Checkout Sunset Walk at Margarettaville in Kissimmee, it's nearby and has lots to choose from.

I haven't been there in a few years, but for decades it has been a regular spot for my family and I when looking for an offsite steakhouse - since it was just outside the main gate entrance - Charley's Steakhouse. Always had fantastic cuts of meat and great classic steakhouse sides - and some massive cuts (20oz filets, 50oz Porterhouses, 2 inch thick pork chops, and some exotic cuts like bison and wagyu. I've also been to the Charley's in Tampa as my company's headquarters is there, so when we have conventions and corporate meetings, it's one of the favorite go-tos for vendor dinners.
