what food do you bring on the plane?

Interesting Post - my wife goes to Wal-Mart and will pack Good -n Plenty, Sweet tarts, and my favorite "Chewies". They come in several flavors and supposedly 20 calories.

If you are taking Song out of Logan, they have a great pretzel counter in the waiting area. We have one of those big soft pretzels before we leave and are all set until we get to our resort - then we usually have something at the food court.

. Dh and I were cracking each other up whispering back and forth about trying to buy some fries or a cheeseburger from them and how high we'd bid.

:teeth: :teeth:

Cinderella37, I have always wondered about peanut allergies and airplanes. They serve packages of peanuts....what if someone DOES have a peanut allergy? I have often wondered why airlines do not switch to handing out small bags of pretzels instead for that very reason.

We always fly USAirways and they only give out bags of pretzels - no more peanuts. I don't know about any other airlines, though.

We always eat at the airport on the way down. Comming back our flight is at 7:15 pm. We eat at the hotel and bring snacks like chips and candy for the flight.

our flight was too early in the am to stop anywhere before going to the airport, and we wouldn't be arriving till almost lunchtime. Breakfast at the airport was our last resort, because I am one that does get cranky if I don't eat something more than a granola bar. I don't look forward to airport food, but there's not much you can do to mess up a bagel with cream cheese. When we go in Sept, we also have an early flight, (8:05). If I can't get DH to try to find a deli for fresh bagel sandwiches at 5:45/6 am, we'll be stuck with airport breakfast again (blech!). I would buy breakfast the day before & refrig it, the nuke it before heading to the airport, but DH won't eat reheated breakfast. Is Dunkin Donughts very early? Jetblue and my carryon will provide extra snacks until we get to WDW. Then, we will probably have lunch while we are chilling out at the food court trying to convince DH to go to MK in time for the parade!

frannn, will DH eat cold bacon, as in a BLT? You can always leave the lettuce out and make use the bacon & tomato on a bagel. I'd personally lightly toast the bagel just for a little crispiness. I'd think you should be able to make that the night before and have it on the plane. If worried about the tomato making the bagel soggy, bag the tomato separately and put it in the sandwich just before eating.

We have an early flight - 7:25 a.m. - so will be at airport around 5:30ish. Detroit Metro Airport has a Cinnabonn - and since they are such a "treat" - I'm looking forward to my non-healthy, non-diet yummy breakfast. Should hold me until we arrive at resort.

Not to burst your bubble but I don't think the cinnabon is open that early. most of the dessert type places don't open till 7AM. :(

Also just went to the DTW airport page and Cinnabon isn't even listed.

The food court at our airport is open as early as the flights start boarding (I think around 5 am). We have Burger King which we usually frequent - for the kids, it's french toast sticks and hash brown nuggets. On board, they like Gogurt, oreos, teddy grahams, goldfish crackers, cheerios, capri sun. Never thought about Lunchables - we'll have to do that next time as my kids LOVE them at home.

DD doesn't like much so we are limited. I always bring Uncrustables for her along with crackers, cookies, and such. For myself I usually get a deli sandwhich at the airport. Our airport has a really good deli right at the gate.
