Hi all,

I am putting together our garden grocer order and am trying to figure out if (2) 1/2 gallons of milk will fit in the fridge. Anyone know??
TIA

They should. The fridges are the size of a "dorm'' fridge. Make sure you get them in the Jug not carton in case you need to lay them down or on thier sides.

I was at WL in December-I think this is accurate.

Yes they will fit in the fridge, you may have to remove one of the shelfs if you don't want to lay them. I was able to fit 2 bottles of soda (2 liters) and a half galloon of milk by doing this.

As others have said the fridge is "dorm" size. Anything small is just perfect; juice boxes, canned soda, water. I know it's more costly but pint size milk is perfect. The smaller the better because you can pile it up inside the fridge.

May I also suggest something that I do which is alot better? I have a collapsible cooler and I bring 2 of them. I fill them up with ice from the machine in the hotel and that is also my fridge. I bring a smaller one as well which I bring to the pool. Just leave the larger one in the tub.

I like your idea of the cooler! Is your coolers the soft sided and you just fold them down? I have ordered milk, juice, water and such for our room and was wondering what to do if they do not fit in the fridge. Much cheaper to order milk and water than to buy everyday.:goodvibes

I have ordered it from Garden Grocer. You can go to GardenGrocer .com and get the info. I haven't tried it before but read about it hear on the boards. so I am going to give it a try. :goodvibes

:)

Just a note of caution that the last few times we have been my milk has gotten some ice crystals on the top. Watch the temperature and also we always when leaving for the day leave the door cabinet open to let air flow around the fridge. We put 2 (1L) milk jugs in the door of the fridge with 12 oj juice boxes with a tub of cream cheese and 5 water bottles in the fridge and it all fits. :)

hi,

So do you think I would be better off with (2) 1/2 gallons of milk instead of a gallon?

I wanted to do a gallon of milk, 1/2 gal of juice and some water bottles.
:)

Here's a photo of the fridge we had at POFQ. This should give you an idea of how much it will hold.

We just got back and unless you can take the main divider rack out of the fridge, you will not be able to fit even a 1/2 gallon of milk in there due to the height of the container. We just bought the small bottles or cartons of milk and stored them on the door.

We could fit about 10 bottles of water layed on the side in the top and on the door, and then we put about 8 canned drinks on the bottom. It stored a lot...just had to turn anything tall on it's side, or put it on the door.

Hope that helps. And yes - it is a 'dorm' fridge'.
