Hi everyone. I'm trying to nail down my dinner ressie's etc. for our trip and while we're down there, it'll be my birthday! YAY!! Good planning on my part, eh? ;)

I want to go to the Yachtsman for dinner on my b-day and would like to book a fireworks cruise that night as well. Nice huh - need to plan my own birthday?!?! Where's my thoughtful, loving hubby? My BIL and SIL? They'll all be there. Why do I have to think of these things?!? Ah yes - no one else knows about these things! Tough job, but...::yes:: I think I can manage to make my day magical! LOL

Anywhooo...back to my original reason for this post! I was thinking that it'd be easier to catch an Illuminations fireworks cruise from the Yachtsman, BUT is it better or at least equal to, the Wishes cruise? If you do the wishes cruise, can you still catch the EWP - do you stay out on the boat that late?

HELP!! I can't decide!!! :confused3 What's the best magic for my buck??

Hi,
Just got back from WDW.
Did Wishes on the coldest night of the entire vacation. But they gave us blankets...so it was well worth it! We saw the version of Wishes done during MVMCP...it is an extended version, more pyrotechnics in a sort of surround fire kind of way (amazing)! I saw it from in front of the castle and then from the boat. The music is piped in...and the music makes the show.
First we cruised all around Discovery Island and our captain gave us the inside scoop of the last 30 years. Disney provides chips and cold drinks. The new limit of passengers is down to 10.

I thought it was wonderful, but then I haven't done Illuminations.
If you can't get the cruise, you could always do your own thing re renting a pontoon (I guess it is reserved for daylight hours though) and partying hearty BEFORE dinner!

Have a magical birthday

I went in September and did the Yachtsman and then the Breathless Cruise. It was great! A nice bottle of Crystal and just the two of us, I couldn't have asked for a better night.

I did the Magic Fireworks a few years back, but there were 24 of us. If you are looking for romantic and a nice show, I would go with the breathless!

I've done both Illuminations and Wishes. Illuminations was nice, but very smokey. Depending on how the wind blows it can get a little tough to see. Wishes was amazing, the view is dead on in front of the castle and like another poster said, they pipe in the music. We did it in March for my nieces 4th birthday, they supplied a large birthday cake, sodas, and they decorated the boat with balloons and a big happy birthday sign. Oh, and they gave us noise makers and party hats. It was a lot of fun, all the other boats hollered out happy birthday when we passed.

We did get to see EWP, we saw a small amount of it before Wishes and then he swung back around so we could see the entire parade afterwards.

If I had to choose I'd say go with Wishes and try to book a birthday cruise with the cake and all. :)

Good luck and happy birthday!!
