What "extras" do you do that make your trip magical?

I buy us lots of clothing with disney characters for the trip, even character pj's. Everyday we are in character clothing. Sometimes I make personalized t-shirts for the trips. I also buy light toys for parades at the disney store in my area and other fun things for parades. We also purchase Disney Dollars for the kids and we give them those to spend on souvenirs. They love those.

DS16 and I have another trip planned for this March at Springbreak. It may be the last time he and I go to WDW together for a long time unless I can bribe him LOL. I wanted to do some special things and we are going to do the Watermice and I am surprising him with a Segway Tour of the World. Other than that just more TS meals than before.

Well I can't say these don't cost a lot :) but these are the extras we're doing:

MNSSHP
Day at Typhoon Lagoon
Miniature golf at Winter Summerland
Night at Adventurers Club

Some things we like to do that cost little or nothing....

Evening at Boardwalk - fun to walk all the way around the lake, taking in the sites, and maybe catch Illuminations from the bridge

Monorail ride to Epcot, then back again....especially at night!

Go to the Poly and walk around....try to catch the torch lighting in the evening. Grab a drink or snack and head to the beach in time for Wishes

I'll try to think of a few more......

Sammy

I always do the disney giftbags for our whole party(8) and we do everyone a t-shirt to wear to Chef Mickey's for breakfast.

-Lunch @ Crystal Palace
-have my dd do the passport stamp thing around world showcase
-dinnner and magaritas in mexico @ a table by the lake & watch illuminations
-go take a picture of our legacy in epcot
-have a silhouette picture done of me, dh, & dd
-get as many pictures made as possible on our photopass card
-go to DTD for my scrapbook stuff, and xmas ornaments
-go to Mickey Mart @ DTD for my good deals
Do as much as we can- oh, and something we've never done before-take one day just to relax and do whatever. I'm thinking of touring the resorts on the monorail!!!

I always plan to do a few things that I've never done before on each trip to make things a little more magical. This trip hubby and I will be trying out a different resort and have ADR's for California Grill, San Angel and Ragland Road. We will also be sharing a Wishes Cruise! WooHoo! I'm really looking forward to trying each one of these!

We usually do one breakfast with characters and one dinner package per trip. This upcoming trip is a bit over the top because it's my youngest DD's 7th birthday and we're at WDW for the first time ever during the holiday season.

But what makes WDW magical for us is touring a park in the am, swimming in the afternoon at our resort and then changing and heading back into Epcot most nights for dinner. We eat at a different country each night and walk around the world. We never, ever get tired of Illuminations or walking back to transportation or our hotel in the dark after the show. It's our absolute favorite place to be as a family.

We are trying so many new things this trip. We are doing the HDDR for the First time EVER!!! and the

Segaway Tour'
Family Magic Tour
MVMCP
1900 Park Fare -Princess dinner.

Next trip we are doing the Luau and Dinner at Germany (so far)

Now for things that don't cost a lot.

The boardwalk at night is awesome! :cheer2: If you have a sports fan, The ESPN club boardcast a weekly radio show that you get to be part of the audience. (It was really cool!). (I think it was Thursday)

Watching Wishes from the Contemporary top floor!!

DTD is always fun- (but could get expensive!!)

Tour the Deluxe hotels!

Have a great trip.

The traditions that have made our trips special are: Going to DTD Christmas store and picking out ornaments that we have personalized (pretty soon we will need a separate tree for all of our WDW ornaments-not that it's a bad thing mind you :thumbsup2 ), the HDDR, eating breakfast at Crystal Palace and dinner at Chef Mickeys , and riding the monorail just for fun!!

We are hoping to take a ride on Breathless. I was told to go to the Bayside Marina between 1:30 and 5:00 and ask about a 10 minute ride. It costs around $28.

Now I just have to find the Bayside Marina. I think it's at the Boardwalk. I'm thinking I can take a boat from MK over there.

Its between the Yacht & Beach Clubs, but no, you cannot take a boat there. My DD will be doing the Albatross Treasure Cruise which departs from Bayside so we will be taking the bus to Epcot, exiting out the International Gateway and walking over to the marina. I believe there is a boat from Epcot and/or MGM that will also take you to the Yacht & Beach Club, but it takes much longer than walking.

Where did you find info on the Breathless cruise? I'd love to try that too!

At Fort Wilderness they have a Chip & Dale sing along, a campfire where you can make smores as well as a free Disney movie. This happens everyday - you'll have to check when you are there to get the specific time (usually starts around dusk) and a movie schedule. We did this last fall and had a great time. They have a snack bar and also sell "smores kits" I think that cost $5 and we had left overs. The night we were there they showed Peter Pan. It was alot of fun and something completely different. We did this on a night we just wanted to chill and it beat the heck out of TV in the room or even swimming.

Great family atmosphere

BTW, this is open to all Disney Resort guest :thumbsup2

I have bought matching Tshirts for everyone for 2 days. (got those on Disneyoutlet for next to nothing)
I am having baskets for the boys in our room when we arrive (that is a splurge but we would have to buy autograph books and stuff anyway)
I plan to have snacks around the world in Epcot.
MNSSHP

I can't believe are down to just over 2 months.

Wow...I go on a business fishing trip..come back and #33 responses!

We have 8 park days on this trip. It is also the first that my Step-daughter will be coming with us, so I want to make it as magical as possible.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Oh I'm so excited about the extras on this trip!!!

We're on the dining plan, so lots of new restaraunts - most excited about Chef Mickey's, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and CRT!! The CRT ADRs are on my birthday, so I'm totally pumped!!

I got a tshirt from disneyshopping online that says "birthday princess" to wear for my birthday. :)

We're taking the Keys to the Kingdom tour

Candlelight Processional package (Kirk Cameron day!!)

It shoudl be a great trip!! :)

we're also doing a lot of "new to us" stuff... new resort (ASMu)... new restaurants (Artist Point, Tony's, dinner at 1900PF, Primetime, Biergarten)... new fun (family fishing excursion, MNSSHP, F&W Fest) *and* my 3 nieces will be joining us for part of our trip (the last time i was at WDW w/any of my nieces were when *they* were pre-schoolers and now they're both college/MBA graduates!) :)

We always let DS pick one "special" thing to do while at WDW. Last summer, it was the speed boats at Grand Floridian. In January, it was going to see "The Chronicles of Narnia" at DTD (he had just finished the book right before the trip and we didn't want to do the Narnia experience at MGM w/o having seen the movie first). This trip, we're not sure, but he's thinking about doing the snorkeling at Living Seas. He has other options, like learning to surf at Typhoon Lagoon or whatever else.

Sometimes he chooses to do a big thing, sometimes it's a little thing. But, whatever he chooses, we know it's special for him!

I have a small list of special things that I would like to do with my family this November:

All these are no extra $$$:

Explore our resort, OKW , for the 1st time.
Find PUSH (the talking trash can).
Finally see the *entire* Chinese acrobat show in Epcot!
Find DeVine in AK.
Trick DH into tasting Beverly at Ice Station Cool. :lmao:
Watch the Flag Retreat at the Main Street town square (for DH).
Look for Hidden Mickeys with DD, now that she is old enough.
Spend just one morning sleeping in .
See the Osbourne Spectacle of Lights at DS.
Watch the leaping fountains at Epcot.
Have the kids ride in the front car of the Monorail for the 1st time.
Get someone to pull the rope at Indy's well at DS!

These are extra $$$:

The HDDR.
Let DD get the "Diva" hairdo at BBB in World of Disney.
Rent surrey bikes at our resort.
Arrange enchanted phone calls to the kids and to DAunt the morning of our departure. (Disney Online).

Have a great vacation!

Where did you find info on the Breathless cruise? I'd love to try that too!

I found info in my Birnbaum's guide book under (specialty cruises), but it lists Breathless as $190 for a 1 hour Illuminations cruise (price per boatload and includes a driver). That's way over our budget, but I read a post on the Dis that they were giving 10 minute rides in the afternoons for about $28. That I can do! Can't wait.

The book lists Breathless as an open-air motorboat that is a 24 foot reproduction of a 1930's mahogany runabout. It fits up to 7 guests.

I wanted to ride the sea raycers at our resort, but later found out they are for 2 people only. We have a toddler with us so if they count him, we won't be able to rent one. I was hoping they'd let me hold him in my lap. I'm not to sure how strict they are about the 2 persons only rule.

Thanks for the info on Bayside. We'll be sure to walk over there from Epcot.
