What extra little things/gadgets do you bring to your hotel room?

:flower: What are those little extra things you bring with you to make your stay in the hotel room a little bit easeier? I bring two of those rubbermaid bathroom caddies for toiletries. I put one on the sink/vanity area to keep all our stuff in so it is not all over the place. Makes it easier for mousekeeping to clean around too. I usually buy the dollar store brand to save money. I put one in the shower for our shampoo, conditioner, baby shampoo/soap. Just makes it easier to have it all in one place. I also bring large kitchen garbage bags with the draw strings. I hang them in the closet and use them as hampers. I bring one for each of us. Just wondering what other things people bring. I would love to get some ideas

my coffee grinder and a two week supply of my french vanilla coffee. Mornings are hardly bearable without it. ;)

We always have a pack of cards and unread books packed into our suit cases. When I finish the book I leave it next to the Bible and buy a new one. I guess I will always be prepared of the downpour of all downpours happens (I think that would be a hurricane, but I am not usually there during that season!) A pair of binoculars, the small size, is also permanantly packed due to all of our AKL trips.

P.S. This is also the same suitcase that tends to go on hockey tournaments. I go through a lot of books in a year! :)

Nothing major, a pair of scissors, ziploc bags for ID's incase it rains, a marker and extra batteries. We keep our toiletries in our Toiletry bag it hangs so it keeps things off the counter.

We always bring our coffeemaker and coffee whether the resort provides them or not. Those little pots just don't make enough for us. I love your bathroom caddy idea! What a great way to keep things organized in a small space. Last time we brought our coleman camp stove to cut down on meal expenses. Although it worked out pretty good moneywise, the extra work made my Disney experience a lot less magical. We won't be doing it again. :goodvibes

Pillow speaker? What is this, it sounds intriguing, and I might need one.

It's also good to know that I'm not the only one who packs a journal.... and *ahem* neverseemstouseit... :rolleyes1

What do I bring with me, what do I bring... I can't think of anything right now. When I start packing in a few weeks, I'll let you know!

the Poly

3. Baby Wipes

:sunny:

1. Noise machine ($19. from Target - provides white noise)
2. Corkscrew, and champagne cork
3. Plastic bags
4. Lysol bleach wipes
5. flashlight and nightlight
6. markers, pens, pencil, journal, plain paper
7. Unofficial guide, Passporter
8. (lol champagne)

I always buy a pack (or two) of cheapo hangers from Target and pack those to hang things I would probably otherwise fold in a drawer. You can also use them to hang swimsuits and stockings and undies in the shower. I generally leave them in the room when we leave, unless I have extra room in my suitcase.

We also bring our favorite shampoo, conditioner, etc. We generally bring bottles that are almost finished so we can toss those when we leave, too. I know they aren't gadgets, but there's nothing nicer on vacation than using your favorite toiletries.

Lastly, we bring our iPods (or laptop) and play our favorite iTunes before bed while reading or writing.

I have several of those suction hooks (snap hooks) to hang up in the shower. There never is enough room on the clothes line in the tub or shower.

I NEVER leave home without an extension cord. There are never enough outlets for camera chargers and cell phones so the extension cord helps a bunch!

I also bring the anti bacterial wipes.

Yup, about 3 reading books per trip, per person, sometimes more (I'm a very fast reader with insomnia and it depends how thick the books are), a DVD player, an adaptor to get the DVD player to work with the TV, and some DVDs. I have a sneaking suspicion that my husband will be bringing one of our video game systems this time as well. So were gong to need a heavy duty lock and case for these thigns for while were gone during the day at the parks.

Jasminetigger, A white noise machine is a device (electrical) about the size of a clock radio, that has a selection of sounds with a volume level control. Choices usually are rain, night forest, thunderstorm, birds, running stream, etc. They are useful for drowning out hallway noise, other room T.V. or music, etc. while in a hotel.

For the same reason, we always take a 7" turbo fan, and that works well. Also plenty of wipes, and a power strip for the same reason swatts1 mentioned.

1). Clothespins (forgot about those suction cups...will have to add them to the list next trip!)
2). Nightlight
3). If we don't have a frig, we'll pack our foldable rolling soft cooler.
4). Laptop
5). Books
6). Power strip

Next trip, whenever that will be, I recently bought a white noise alarm clock that I've been wanting for awhile...it will make it much nicer to go to sleep at night (speaking from another insomniac!) I'd also like to get a foldable hamper (still looking for one for cheap), but we usually use a trashbag for laundry purposes. I'll also bring an Oust fan for the bathroom-brought this on our November 2004 DCL cruise, and I was SO glad!

We also bring plastic bowls/spoons for cereal in the room, lots of plastic bags in various sizes (sandwich, freezer, etc.), quarters/laundry detergent/dryer sheets for laundry, and our own pillows!! I also bring my heating pad because I have a chronic back issue that gets irritated with walking and standing.

WHEW! Granted, our last few trips have been for at least 10 days so we like to have some of the comforts of home to get us through!
