There's so much grumbling around here, let's bring some cheer. DISers with upcoming trips, what experiences are you excited for? I'm not just talking rides, I'm talking shows, street performers, snacks, what have you...

I'm going in March 2016 on my "Reboot Trip" as it were, it's the first time in a very long time (effectively a first time all over again) with my DGF and we're setting up for a great trip. It's been interesting for me, as a WDW veteran started to get frustrated by all the taking the World has been doing, to see it through her eyes. There are so many things she is excited for that I think we take for granted, making ride and show closures seem a great deal worse to us. Here is our list, in no particular order:

Magic Kingdom:
  • Space Mountain! (this is my favorite coaster of all time, and we will be riding it a few times)
  • Space Ranger Spin (DGF wants to take me down a peg, apparently I mention being a Galactic Hero a lot...)
  • Splash Mountain
  • Big Thunder Mountain
  • Seven Dwarves Mine Train (We will hopefully get an FP for this, if not, we'll make it work somehow, neither of us have ever ridden it so it's worth a shot)
  • Peter Pan's Flight
  • Philharmagic
  • Wishes!
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Mad Tea Party (Again DGF has challenged my rein as lead spinner of the cup, we got a real pressure cooker here...)
  • Casey's
  • Be our Guest (My DGF is a foodie and a huge fan of BatB)
  • Pirates
  • IASMW (Ok, excited is a strong word, but it's a staple!)
  • DOLE WHIP!

Epcot:
  • Flower and Garden! (This is a big deal for DGF, she and her mom garden together all the time, it's my second time experiencing it, first time was a day stop at Epcot coming back from a cruise)
  • Spaceship Earth (this is my traditional first ride of every trip, no exceptions. It's the first thing I ever rode in WDW with my sister when we were kids and I have to go on it first every time)
  • Mission: Space
  • Test Track
  • Soarin' (assuming it's open, if not, well, that's alright, just a good excuse to make another trip)
  • Rose & Crown (We will have a late dinner there to see...)
  • IllumiNations (which I like better than Wishes, DGF will be the arbiter)
  • San Angel Inn
  • Three Cabelleros
  • Club Cool
  • Living with the Land
  • Sunshine Seasons (my favorite QS)
  • The Seas with Nemo and Friends
  • Captain EO (For DGF, she loves MJ! I've never actually seen it though)
  • Figment! (I love it, stop judging me, one little spark...)
  • World Showcase
  • Ellen's Energ--- no I'm kidding, let's be real, we nap in the Hall of Presidents

Animal Kingdom: (Traditionally my least favorite park, DGF is super excited for it and now I'm excited all over again)
  • The Safari (of course! I miss when it had the poacher storyline, but it's still fun)
  • Countdown to Extinction (the true and proper name)
  • Expedition Everest! (DGF is a little nervous about coasters but enjoys them all the same, this one is a win for me because I love the ride and I'll get to hold on to her to make her feel safe)
  • Kali River Rapids (scorching temperature pending)
  • Flights of Wonder (never seen it! DGF loves birds!)
  • Festival of the Lion King (never seen it!)
  • It's Tough to Be a Bug (DGF will freak out, funny for me :))
  • Finding Nemo (never seen it!)
  • Yak & Yeti (keep missing it on trips, I'm determined to try it this time)
  • That jalapeno-cheese pretzel thing I seem to constantly just miss
  • Primeval Whirl

Disney's Hollywood Studios:
  • Rock'n'roller coaster! (again, DGF is nervous, but loves coasters and Aerosmith, as do I)
  • Tower of Terror (This isn't a tier 1 ride? I disagree but will enjoy the good fortune)
  • Toy Story Mania (she seeks to dethrone me again... foolish mortal)
  • The Great Movie Ride
  • Star Tours
  • Did I mention Star Tours?
  • Indiana Jones Stunt Show (DGF has never seen the IJ movies, I'm hoping this will convince her they're worth watching)
  • Fantasmic (if it's showing, we've never seen it)
  • Mama Melrose (hoping to do the F! Dining thing)

Admittedly DHS is a little light at the moment, I miss Backlot tour and I never tried the Animation Academy, but I'm still excited, worst case we end up day with a nice swim or a romantic nap in the room!

Speaking of the room....

Port Orlean Riverside:
  • The resort! (I've never stayed above Value, she's never even stayed on site!)
  • Piano Bob
  • Boat to DTD/DS
  • Sausage Gravy and Biscuits (I'm told I need to pop over to POFQ one morning to get this, but it's worth it!)
  • Pools
  • Hot Tubs

In general:
  • DDP! First time for both of us, we are planning lots of Table Service restaurants, which is a total change for me
  • California Grill
  • Raglan Road (I wanted to try this last trip, but I got overruled by family, one of the little ones would only eat at places that served chicken nuggets....)
  • Having a rental car! (DME and Disney Transport is a nice perk, but the end of night crush and the time wasted on connections is frustrating)
  • The Monorail! (Just the same, I can't miss the Monorail)
  • MagicBands (first trip with)
  • FP+ (first trip with, slightly nervous but mostly excited, DGF and I are early risers, so I think early mornings at the park and later afternoon FPs are going to be our jam)
  • Downtown Disney/Springs (DGF loves gift shops and shopping and the stores will be great for her, I want to try out the new IJ bar)
  • This one is only on my list, DGF doesn't know yet ;) but we are going to Victoria & Albert's for the Chef's Table (my TA snagged it for me, she's awesome)
  • We are considering renting a little boat from one of the MK resorts to putter around the lagoon for a bit, haven't decided

So that's a pretty comprehensive list, we're going for 7 days, 6 nights, so it will be a little tight in fact I think. If not, that's okay, I might actually unwind on a Disney vacation for once, which is another new and good thing!

So in the spirit of remembering all of the great magic WDW still offers us, what are you excited for?

Adam

I love the list you made!!! I agree with a lot of what you said so ill try and keep my list short.

Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars (yum)
Seeing the castle for the first time of the trip
Walking down main street for the first time of the trip
Monorail rides
That sweet Disney water smell ( I know that's wired but I love a nice Disney fountain)
Going on the people mover (always my first ride)
FOOD!

There is just so many things that I love doing there id end up writing a list far to loping for these boards. These things are just what popped into my head first haha :-)

For my next trip I'm excited about:

1) Fulfilling a life-long dream, (from age 7 on), of spending a night at the Contemporary Resort! We have a two-night stay before our cruise and that was the perfect opportunity to do a theme-park view at CR.

2) Trying out the Be Our Guest restaurant for dinner.

3) We're going to do the Epcot Seas Aqua tour, (where you snorkel in the Epcot tanks.) Scary, but exciting!

So excited that today I booked a surprise birthday trip for DH's 50th!! We are staying CR Atrium MK view. It is for Oct 2016. Seems like a long way away but just booking it makes it seem closer!

Candlelight Processional in general, and hearing my son sing in it, specifically.
Getting to see the Osborne Lights in it's final year.
Hopefully there will be new Star Wars related stuff going on when I'm at DHS (about 2 weeks before The Force Awakens comes out).

It's not until next Sept but I'm excited to try a new tour. We do one every trip and have loved them all.

This is weird but I'm excited to smell Disney World. It has unique scents (mostly good!) all it's own and that creates a memory all in itself!

Arriving on 11/7 and staying for 7 nights. Here is my list:
  • Osborn Family Lights!
  • Snow on Main Street!
  • Oompah band and bier at the Biergarten
  • Boat rides (from my resort, the Beach Club, to DHS and POR to DTD - we do this because we enjoy the ride instead of a bus)
  • Sun in November (we live in Cleveland)
  • The Tower of Terror after dark
  • Watching my kids' faces after a big gulp of Beverly at Epcot Club Cool
  • The DTD candy store
  • Enjoying an end of the day beer on my balcony while looking at the boardwalk, storm-a-long bay and lagoon
  • Meeting Goofy again
  • Outscoring my wife and kids on TSMM and BLSR
  • Eating 'smores at the 50's Primetime Cafe
  • Relaxing by the pool at SAB
I'm sure I'm missing something here. In general, I can't wait!

Thanks, I'm really excited for it. It's funny how many things on that list would never have occurred to me as "things to do" until recently. I just sort of assumed I would do them and didn't count them. It's weird what we take for granted, but once DGF started listing off things and getting excited I started to remember. Seeing the magic through fresh eyes really puts it in perspective. Yes, a lot is different or gone, but I don't see how anyone (including myself at low points) can say WDW or any park is truly just an empty shell. It's great to remember all the good things that remain and are coming!

Contemporary is my dream resort too, one day!!

Awesome thread to start!!!! We leave in 12 days eeek!!! We booked last November on a bounce back, so it feels like it has been a long time coming!!

We are looking forward to...

1. Typhoon Lagoon, last time we were there it was closed, it is DH's favorite park!! We will buy new Disney towels and the water park mug !!

2. MNSSHP - We are going as R2D2 and C3P0, I was looking forward to princes but I hear they wont be there, but cant wait for the parade and fireworks.

3. POR, we have never stayed there before so whole new experience for us!!

4. MK - Wishes, FOF, Buzz, and so much more.

5. EP, the Food and Wine Festival - bought the sampler pack cant wait to try so many dishes, and experience some again that we loved last year.

6. HS - Star Tours and TSMM, I am a pretty big Star Wars gal so this is my favorite ride in the parks and TSMM is DH's.

7. AK - Typically my favorite park, I love the safari and cant' wait to explore the new area.

8. Food - we are trying O'hana, Fultons, Chef's de France, MYBB, Biergarten all for the first time. Also BOG breakfast, plus we will eat a Turkey leg on honor of DFIL, who used to vacation with us but passed this year.

9. Most of all that it is just the two of us!! I cant wait to without having to plan, and wrangle many other people. We are celebrating our anniversary that was last weekend.

Cant wait to hear what other people are excited about too!!!!

Love your list, but it's really ambitious! IF you get all that done in 7 days you're going to be exhausted!

Anyway, for our trip in a little over two months:
- Seeing all the Christmas decorations for the first time. We've never been there over the Christmas season.
- Dinner at BoG
- Dinner at Raglan Road
- MVMCP
- Osbourne Lights
- Candlelight Processional
- Chef Mickeys
- Breakfast at CP
- Seeing it all through the eyes of my youngest son who will be on his first trip.

Well, I won't reveal my age, suffice it to say I've been around for a while but what I'm really looking forward to on our upcoming trip in December is to dine at Cinderella's Royal Table. We have a breakfast reservation ~ really looking forward to seeing inside of the castle.

Also, looking forward to seeing the Osborne Lights one last time before they are gone!!!

DH & I are going to MNSSHP on Tuesday - we go yearly but I'm always super excited.

We also booked the Merry and Bright dessert part for our Thanksgiving trip and I'm glad we'll be able to do it before the lights retire.

First time for us at POR too! Really looking forward to it.

It is ambitious! If we don't hit it all, I'm ok with that, but I think we will! ADRs are made for the restaurants, there isn't a force on Earth that can stop DGF from shopping at DTD and we are both early risers so we hope RD + FP will sort the rides and line us for relaxing pool and bar/club evenings.

Edited to add: Seeing the trip through another persons eyes is so much fun. My last trip I was lucky enough to be able to take my little cousin on their first trip, and now I get to take DGF on her first trip in 15 years! I almost enjoy that more than experiencing things myself. Planning and sharing the magic is pretty amazing.

We leave in 14 days for my 2 oldest grandkids first trip!!! They will be 6 & 7 when we get there and they've been waiting for Mimi to take them to 'the Castle' since they could talk. They think we are going next year, so we're telling them next weekend that we leave that week! My kids and I have been many times, but this will be different!

I'm looking forward to staying at ASMu Family Suites (our favorite resort), the look on their faces when they see the Castle and other things we've talked about for years, their transformation into pirate and mermaid at the Pirate's League, Character Meals, movies at the pool, just so many firsts for them!

I think I might be more excited than they will be!

My husband and I leave in 5 long and painful days! So far this year, we have been to DL, DCA, Tokyo DL, and Tokyo Disneysea! Super excited to bring up our total of Disney parks in 2015 to EIGHT!

I am most excited for the Halloween party. Also, we are staying at Coronado Springs for the first time and I'm super excited to check out a new resort!

We are excited for our first MNSSHP and Dessert Party. Ive read the grumbling but I take all that with a grain of salt. We plan on having a great time no matter the conditions or crowd level. Heck, your at Walt Disney World! How can you not be Happy, lol.

We have less than 3 weeks to go for our Disney trip, which will be a first for everyone in my family of 4. I can't wait to see the looks on my kids's faces when we get there, not to mention mine and my husband's! I've always wanted to go to DW, so this trip really is a dream come true.

I'm looking forward to anything and everything. We want to make sure we go on some of the 'staples': Haunted Mansion, It's a Small World, Dumbo, etc. We are only spending two days at magic Kingdom, and I know we won't get to experience everything...but we are planning to enjoy what we can.

I'm so excited about everything! Last year was my first trip to Disney and I did not do very much planning at all and while we had a blast. We didn't get to as much as we could have. For this trip I feel like I know a lot more thanks to the dis and other websites!
But I think some of the things I'm most looking forward too.

Staying a bit longer. We have 8 park days this time instead of the four we did last year.

Eating dinner at Be Our Guest.

Meeting Anna & Elsa

Having a late night at Magic Kingdom

Food & Wine- we did it a bit last year but like a said I was not much of a planner and didn't know what it was all about but I've planned a "Lunch" of snacking around the world!

I'm also excited to share it with my husbands family :)
