What exactly is WISH? I'm assuming a weight loss club of some sort.. and if so, i could really use the support & would love to join. :wave2:
 
oops.. posted before i read the sticky.

in that case: here are my hopes and intentions..
I'm 21 and have done weight watched twice.. both times lost around 20-25 lbs, then it stopped coming off, so i gave up and ended up gaining it all plus more back. it is so difficult for me to stick to a diet because i love food. i dont necessarily eat when i'm not hungry or over-eat, and as much as i love chocolate, it isnt a vice.. but it is my comfort and all my comfort foods aren't so great for losing weight.. mac & cheese, french fries, etc. While trying to eat better, i always feel like i'm "missing out" on good food, does that sound crazy?

in any case, i really need to lose weight, not only for my appearance and self esteem (lower than low), but for my health - including my bad back and constantly sore feet. my long term goal is to lose 100 lbs by around Jan 2008 when DBF and I plan on planning a the wedding for once you know, we have more than $78.50 in the bank). i can't afford to do weight watchers right now, but i do have all my old books and paperwork from it. the thing that scares me is that i'm going down to do the college program next semester, and there is SO much good food (and fried food!!)

any tips or advice?
 
Welcome! This is a board for people who want to lose weight, be healthy, get active you name it. Everyone here is very helpful & positive. Join in on the challenges. They have been helping me. With each challenge you decide your goal. Make sure it is realistic so you dont set yourself up for disappointment. Like you could join the Christmas challenge & just have your goal to be lighter by Christmas. I did that with the Halloween challenge.

I am doing WW at home. I dont go to meetings because they get on my nerves & dont benefit me at all.

Good luck! Check in here often. It does help with the motivation & support.

You have found the best place to be for sure. You are so smart to try to do this for you. It can be done as you will see when you begin posting and participating in all there is to offer.

While you must be the one motivated to take the journey to better health for you, your journey is one you don't have to be alone in doing. Come often and post lots. The key is to take little steps, but keep moving forward on healthy choices. (I like to avoid that "D" word) Make this a positive experience and have fun with it and you will succeed.
