What exactly is subscribing to a thread? And how do you do it?

I know it means you can follow the thread... but I have no idea where you follow it... or find it to follow it... and how you even subscribe to it. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would love it. I cannot tell you how many threads I've lost in the past month.

Kaylajr gave a good description here a few days ago so I am just going to copy her post:

HI and Welcome to the DIS

FIrst go to your User CP it is in the top left of your screen right under the DISboards. com logo

See it???

good now you need to click on it

that is the screen where you will see any threads you are subscribed to which means any you started any you posted on and any you went into thread tools and hit subscribe. It is also where you can see if you have any new PMs


Nothing showing there???

Okay so you need to adjust your subscription preferences than
so from that same user CP screen on the left you will see a choice to EDIT OPTIONS

Click that

the second Box down says messaging and notification......

Still with me ??? Good

down just a bit in that box it will say

Default Thread Subscription Mode

You need to pick one of the choices in the box
I have no email notification on mine cause I don't want an inbox full of DIS posts I just come here and click user CP but several people like getting emails everytime there is a reply totally up to you prefrence.

so pick one of the choices
scroll ALL the way down and hit save changes

from than on all the threads will be saved in your user CP unless you delete it.
