What exactly is "electronics exporting business"?

I met someone through a on-line dating service. He seems very nice but I noticed his english wasn't always right (spelling, verb tense, context). He says he is a US citizen living in Dayton and he moved here from germany when his parents got divorced. He say he's in the "exporting electronics business". A red light flashed in my head. What do you think that type of business is?

Well if he's not from the US he may have contacts in say Denmark that he is using to export electronic items from North America to Denmark.

The european's use a different current of electricity then us so their items are different but with an adapter the person can use the north american version.

exporting doesn't have to be illegal it just takes connections in the other market to make it work.

I don't know what "exporting electronics" entails but I know that there are legal exporting companies. Hopefully your new friend works for one of the good guys

Probably not the same thing but my BIL purchases vintage &/or high tech audio/electronics second hand & 'exports' it to Audiophiles out of the country, mainly Japan... it's his only job & amazingly he makes a pretty comfortable living.
