Just back from Pop. THere was a seperate check in for concierge and see lots of people talk about it here. What does it mean? I figured it was something fancy at the Deluxes ;) but apparently Pop had it too.... Thanks! :wave2:

Concierge is a special service people pay for at certain resorts to have someone attend to their special needs such as making hard to get dinner PS, resolving issues etc. Also, most concierges offer special services such as lounges with complimentary food and drink.

Pop does not have concierge level service. Concierge can also just mean the person at the front desk so that is probably what it meant there. At WDW concierge is only at the Deluxe hotels.

I just returned from a stay at POR, which also does not have your Deluxe resort-type concierge. However, I noticed that the area which used to be called "Guest Services", is now called "Concierge". While it is possible that they may assist with guest check-in at peak periods, they are mostly there to assist with things like PS's, ticket purchases, etc. But, it is not the same as a concierge at a Deluxe resort that you would pay for.

I guess Disney is changing the names of a few things. Concierge at the Deluxes is now called club level.

Sounds like WDW is trying to align their terminology closer to the "real world". My guess is that they've had a lot of issues with guest expectations due to this, and thus are making the change.

To the OP--Club Level offers private check-in, extended and upgraded amenities and toiletries, a continental breakfast and some snacks during the day, and more personalized service. It's only available at the deluxe resorts, and generally costs $100-200 more per room per night.

We like to stay concierge level for the lounge. Here's a listing of the what the concierge lounge at the POLY offers. Most concierge lounges offer similar.

6:30 am - 7:00am -- Coffee

7 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. -- Kakahiaka - Morning Service
Continental breakfast featuring: fresh fruits, juices, pastries, bagels, English muffins, oatmeal, cereals, coffee and assorted teas. (Yogurt upon request.)

11:30am - 4 p.m. -- Auinala - Afternoon Service
A variety of fresh fruits, cookies (oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, sugar) and other snacks, including gummy worms, Goldfish crackers, trail mix. Also available: Guava juice, lemonade, tea, coffee, bottled water and sodas.

5 - 7 p.m. -- Ahiahi - Evening Service
Light hors d'oeuvres, including fresh fruit, veggies and dip, cheese and crackers, cookies, and hot appetizers, wines (cabernet, white zinfandel, and chardonnay). Children's snacks, including Smuckers "Uncrustables" peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and gummy worms.

8 - 10 p.m. -- Aumoe - Late Evening Service
Sampling of desserts (miniature eclairs, cream puffs, etc. ) and cordials, including Amaretto, Grand Marnier, Courvasier, and Franjelico.

(I copied this off the AllEarsNet Site.)

We don't take full advantage of the planning staff simply because we don't do a lot of priority seatings/reservations. I do know that lots of people take full advantage of the IPO staff and have their entire itinerary planned out by the staff.

It's a real splurge for us but worth it! We all enjoy the pampering so much! :goodvibes

That's exactly the reason.

All resorts will have a "Lobby Concierge" who can sell tickets, book dining and recreation. The term "Guest Services" confused guests, and most thought it was just the place to complain.

Deluxe resorts will have both the Lobby Concierge, as well as the "club level" which is more of the personalized services that Anne described. Private floors, with thier own private staff, etc.
