What exactly is an "add on"?

Hi everyone,

I have another question about the intimate wedding packages. I understand everything that is included with the basic cost and that adding nights and where we stay will vary the costs. What is an add on though? Is that something like having Cinderella's Carriage or is it something else. Also, regarding the photography, are the prices for using outside photographers reasonable? I don't want to just have a small album for the wedding which seems to be the case with going through Disney.

Thanks!

The add-on for an intimate wedding means that you have a resevation for at least 4 days and you want to pay separtely for the wedding(a lot of DVC members do this and those who like me have an AP and can find a better room rate). What is included is the same thing for the wedding in a package from FTW. If you want the carraige, characters, additional floral that has to be discussed with your Event Manager. He/She will set up anything in addition to the basic package. Add-on's vary in prices depending on which spot you choose. We had a deluxe add-on and it was $2300. Our room was billed separtely(sp) for additonal items and we paid DPS with our credit card.
You can get a photo credit(I don't know how much) if you choose to use an outside vendor for photography.
I hope this answers some of your questions!

Reese,

If you do put down a deposit for an intimate wedding, some time after that you would receive either a CD or a packet all about the details you can have on your special day. Included in that the first part discusses what's included and the last part shows all the extras such as Cinderella's Coach, Cars, different photography packages, different flowers, characters, makeup, hair and there may be a couple I'm forgetting. we are having an add-on and all thats differant is we have a seperate bill for the hotel. i would defenitly recommend this since you don't get a discount if you do the package.

They won't guarantee this. I had an add-on and used Randy for the photographer. The option they give you is to get a "honeymoon photo package" instead. It wasn't the same package that is $295, this package is only valued at $205.

Hello everyone, I am new to the DIS boards. First, I would like to thank all of you for the wealth of information, support and inspiration that I have found on this board. I love reading the posts and looking at the beautiful pics, esp the wedding pics.

My husband and I are planning to have an Intimate Vow Renewal in Spring 2005. (we have been married 5 years and we never had a real wedding because we could not afford it) When we spoke to the Disney rep about the Intimate Wedding, we got the impression that we had to book the resort as part of the wedding package. We were told that the the total package price included a 4-night stay, which is required as part of the package. The disney rep never quoted us a price for just the wedding. However, after reading this thread, I realized that you can book the room by itself (using any discounts that may apply to you such as AP) and then pay for the wedding separately as an "add-on." Is that correct? I'm a little confused about all this.

Thanks so much for your help!

You have to let them know that you understand how it all works. I just called them up and said that I understood that there was a package that I could substitute for photography and that I wanted to get it.
BTW, for 50 extra dollars, you get a lot more in that honeymoon package. if you need more information on that, let me know.
