What exactly does the Holiday Tour include?

We have never done a tour and wondered what the Holiday Time tour includes. Also, we are AP holders and we are wondering if anyone might know how much this would cost with an AP discount? Thanks to everyone!

I don't think they've announced the current tour inclusions and pricing. On the website right now it says $80, but that might be from last year.

When I did it a couple years back, I got an AP discount of 20%. It started at the tour booth at the front and went down Main Street, we did an audio tour with details and things about the decorations, traditions, etc. Not sure about the exact time frame, but I remember we went on the train, stopped at various places to talk/see holiday related things. I remember stopping in NOS and going on Haunted Mansion Holiday. We also stopped in Toon Town and got hot cocoa in souvenir mugs and white chocolate dipped gingerbread Mickey cookies. We went on It's a Small World and had front row chairs for the evening parade in front of IASW. For some reason when we did it, they didn't have the pins yet (I think we went on the first tour of the season), but they mailed them to me, they were cute nutcracker pins with dangly legs.

There's more information about the Holiday Tour in the Holiday Super Thread :)

Are they keeping the Christmas Parade this year? I know that's been a big part of the holiday tour in the past...I wonder if it will replace Soundsational during the holidays with the tour being earlier to accommodate an afternoon parade (instead of evening) and still allow for PTN and the fireworks later. Man....could be a busy schedule! I'm taking hubby to DL for his birthday/Christmas this year and am thinking of doing the holiday tour...will be exciting to see what they include now with the 60th activities involved.

Does anyone know if the tours run after Christmas? And when they typically announce them tour dates?

A Christmas Fantasy Parade is returning this year (supposedly in the daytime only), so I'm certain it will be part of the tour. Paint the Night will run at night. I'm sure that Disneyland Forever will continue on for the rest of the year (so no Believe in Holiday Magic fireworks).

There isn't always an announcement in the traditional sense. The Parks Blog will either do a blog about it or they won't but, if they don't do it, it doesn't mean the tour is not happening. People who know the tour exists will know to start checking to see if the booking window has opened at the 30-day point.

If the holiday season officially begins on 11/12 or 11/13 this year (and we don't have the confirmation on that yet), then the booking window for the first tours should open up roughly 30 days in advance, barring any kind of chaos in the Disneyland website's system or on their calendar.

The tour runs through the end of the holiday season in early January, and it's daily.

I will also be keeping an eye out for what will be included. I can always hope or maybe better dream that the CP might be included. I Google-d Holiday tour and read about (I think in Florida) it was included. I think the tour would be fun but for me might be too much all at once walking. Still early and I just am already so excited about going in December, this is just something new to keep an eye on if even I don't go just to enjoy earing about it :)

Thank you so much CaptBane for your tour review! So how long did it last, a few hours? One other question, is the audio headphones or ear buds something you would have to wear to fully enjoy the tour? I ask that because I stray away from those types of things due to health condition. I am looking forward to this year seeing the Christmas Fantasy parade :)

The Tour lasted about 3 hours (A three hour tour...). They did play some audio things on the headphones, like the story from the Three Amigos and a few Christmas Carols. Also the tour is miked so you can hear them over the crowd. I am not sure how the Parade seating will work this year, since it's starting to sound like the Christmas Parade will only be during the day, as the Paint the Night Parade will be at night. Hope this helps!

^Thank you very much :) I would enjoy seeing some of PTN just for a few moments of Electrical Parade nostalgie but admit to having more interest in the fun of the Christmas Parade. :)
