What exactly DID you do at Disney? May 2011 TR (TR link pg 44)

Sorry your morning didn't start off like you wanted it to. At least you enjoyed the food at Akershus. Kids can be so fickle when it comes to what they like. I know Reid can change his mind a hundred times within a matter of minutes as to what he likes & doesn't like.

I hope they have still have the Segway tour when Reid gets old enough to do it. That's one of the tours Ed & I would love to do.

Hope the rest of the day went better than breakfast!

Sorry your morning didn't go as planned. Hopefully the yummy food at Akershus at least made up for it somewhat.
And the picture of Caitlin with Belle is adorable, I love how they have matching poses!

I dropped Akershus because I knew Keith would hate it...now I am glad I did! But I definitely want to go there because I hear so many good things about the food! I am so thankful that one of the things Keith likes most is WS and Epcot since it is my favorite! That way I do not have to worry about him pouting the whole time. Also anytime I can stick a beer in his hand he is a happy fellow...so we visited Germany a lot!! :rotfl:

Sorry your last day is not beginning all that great!

I'm sorry your morning wasn't how you had planned it. I too hate to be late...it really stresses me out!

We had lunch at Akershus last year...we are doing CRT this year. I must say if we go back to Akershus sometime (which I'm sure we will) we will be doing breakfast! ;)

we liked Akershus too. Sorry dh lost his sunglasses and was therefore grumpy. Caitlin's eyes look really pretty in these pictures- especially the one where she is drinking.

Wow! I am off of the DIS for a few weeks and you book a cruise! I am so excited for you!!! I have been trying to find a way to take a Disney cruise, but it is REALLY expensive for a family of 5. I can't wait to hear about your experience. :yay:

Now, going back a month, I LOVE the stuff you bought in the kitchen store. Somehow I always miss that place.

Too bad about your breakfast at Boma. My lunch at Akershus was the same way - just not as good as last time.

I think your room at BCV looks really cute. It has more ambiance than I expected. You make an interesting point about the size of SAB with little kids. I will have to remember that.

We have never done the breakfast at Akershus, but your food looked pretty good. I will have to keep that on the list.

I am thinking of booking breakfast next time and putting DH on the Segway tour in Epcot. He hated Akershus but I am pretty sure he was just annoyed about his sunglasses. He has said he never wants to go to World Showcase again.

Ouch!
Never, never, ever again?
That's harsh, Pops!

Caitlin looks like Belle in that picture. Maybe she'll be a Belle someday. :goodvibes

This picture reminds me that I need some Mine, Mine, Mine gulls for my classroom. ;)

I'm caught up again! I'm so excited for your cruise, I cannot wait to hear all about it.

Maybe you should start planning really horrible Disney days and then, when it doesn't go the way you planned, it will all work out just the way you really wanted to.

Caitlin does look very pretty in the pictures from Akershus. :)

I need to look through my pictures to remember how the rest of the day went. For some reason I have blocked most of it out.

Akershus was very good. If the morning had been better it would have been one of my favorite meals of our trip.

I love the picture of Caitlin with Belle. It's one of my favorites.

I wish DH could just have a beer and be happy, but he doesn't drink and isn't really into food. I can see why someone who doesn't drink, eat or shop could care less about WS. Next time I will hit WS alone, it is just better for everyone. Although I do hope Caitlin will enjoy it when she gets older.

DH doesn't understand my need to be on time. I get stressed when I am late. I can't stand it!

We need a redo at Akershus so I can really enjoy it without DH.

DH and his stupid sunglasses. Usually he is pretty easy going and would have let it go but I think the fact that he was on his way to another princess meal in his least favorite park didn't help at all.

That stinks about the high cost of being a family of 5. Disney seems to become much more expensive when you have that extra person. I have heard POR is phasing out that 5th person spot. Unbelieveable. If we ever become a family of 5 it will be DVC rental or offsite.

I can't wait to hear about your girls trip. I am sad that Caitlin and I aren't going. I can't bring myself to cancel the adrs I made. :sad2: I hope the cruise is worth missing our girls trip.

It is harsh, isn't it? I can see why he doesn't love it since he doesn't enjoy food other than eating main meals, doesn't drink and doesn't shop. Next time I will plan for him to either stay in the resort or do something like the Segway tour while Caitlin and I go to Akershus and check out the countries. Caitlin has never been on the Mexico boat ride or Maelstorm.

I would love to see how your room looks. Have you taken pictures yet?

Great pictures at BCV. I love the picture of Caitlin with Belle. :)

That picture is one of my favorites:goodvibes Caitlin rarely wanted her picture taken but when a character was around that was a different story.

I can't wait to see your OKW pictures. With Disney phasing out discounts it looks like DVC rental will be happening more and more for us.

I'm caught up again! I'm so excited for your cruise, I cannot wait to hear all about it.

I hope it goes well. Only my family an ruin a Disney cruise.

Part of me wants to not plan anything next time but I have a feeling we would never make it to any parks if I don't have some type of plan. Then, DH would be happy but I would have another trip where nothing gets done. DH and I have a plan on how to work the next trip so that everyone will be happy.

:goodvibes I love the pictures with Belle. I wish we were still go in Oct. b/c Caitlin has redeveloped her love of the princess and would want to go to eat princess meal wearing her matching dress. Oh well, she had her chance this year. It just makes me sad that she will be 9 the next time we go and will most likely be totally over all princess stuff.:sad2:

I need to look through my pictures to remember how the rest of the day went. For some reason I have blocked most of it out.

Uh oh....that may not be a good sign of how the day went if you've blocked it from your memory!

 I do know that dinner was good that night and we had an enjoyable last day, but that afternoon is completely wiped from my memory.

Okay, it is official. I think I have lost my mind. I begged and begged and begged for DH to agree to an Oct. Disney trip. I got my way. Once that was planned I had second thoughts. Somehow DH actually agreed to do a Disney cruise. I have a little confession. I am having some serious second thoughts about our cruise plans in Nov. I mentioned this to DH maybe 2 weeks ago and he stated that he really wants to go and we are not cancelling.

Fine, I just let it go. I started to really look foward to it. Now that our final payment and 75 day mark is approaching I am really having some second thoughts.

First of all is the cost. If we were to book the same week next year we could do a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy for only $400 more than what we are spending on a 3 night cruise.

Second- 3 nights. A short weekend. It seems like it will go by way too quick to even enjoy it. With the first day being mostly travel and boarding paying almost $4000 with everything included seems totally unworth it to me.

I tried talking to DH tonight but he wasn't feeling well and said to ask him again tomorrow. He is usually the reasonable one so hopefully he'll make the right choice. I'm not really sure what to do. Cancel altogther, switch to a 5 night cruise in June or maybe a 7 night in next year.

As I have mentioned we are hoping to get pregnant this year so if we do put it off until summer or next year anything that is booked will be cancelled. Maybe we should just go and have one last hoorah before we bring a baby into the mix. Then again $4000 will nice to have once maternity leave comes around.

Anyway... just venting. Not really sure which way to go. DH and I have been working crazy hours this summer and have barely seen each other since our trip in May. I can't wait for work to slow down and for Caitlin to get back to school. I am exhausted and need a vacation but honestly don't know if the cruise is such a great idea. I feel like it won't be very relaxing since there is so much to see in such a short amount of time. However DH told me today that if I was to get pregnant that once we have a kid he refuses to go anywhere for 3 years. (Which of course really means 2:rolleyes1)

Decisions, decisions........

This is just my opinion but $4000 for a short weekend trip doesn't seem worth it. I would make plans for the 7-night cruise, trust me, they are awesome, and then maybe go somewhere nearby for a cheaper weekend away this fall. If you have to cancel/delay the cruise because you get pregnant at least it is for a good cause! DCL/WDW isn't going anywhere! ;)

That is a tough one, girl! And I really understand all of your points. The only thing I would say is that if you fully intend to be pregnant by next year, definitely do some sort of trip this fall. Even if it's just the 3 night cruise or if you change back to WDW. I will say that if y'all do end up going on the 3 night cruise as planned, y'all will have a lot of fun. Will it be long enough? I won't lie - no it won't. But, as you know, only you & DH can decide what'll be best for y'all. These decisions can be so hard to make. I know I always feel like I'm making the wrong one. But, it always works out in the end! :thumbsup2

Why don't you do the cruise and then do 2 or 3 days in Disney? That's what I'm trying to do for May...:rolleyes1

Tough decision! And I really dislike tough decisions!!

I faced this same issue with a cruise trip for Chris. He opted to go on a longer Carnival cruise rather than Disney. I can save $1500 going on a 7 day Carnival cruise rather than a 4 day Disney cruise. Of course we are losing the Disney finesse! But i like the port of call a lot better!

Also throwing the baby scenario in causes things to be more interesting! I understand losing your mind since I feel that way quiet frequently!!

That is how I am starting to feel. Especially since I know DH will not want to do the Disney shows and characters meets. I feel like maybe I am paying more for nothing. I am hoping I can convince to put it off until 2013 so we can book well in advance and do a week on the Fantasy.

I am sure it will work out. I would love to do the cruise but I am just not sure I will have a great experience with the short cruise. We can book a week on the Magic but DH said no. I do have a few new trip ideas but I'll get into that in a few minutes. I definitely want to do something in the fall especially since DH is convinced we won't go anywhere for a few years if we have another kid.

Could you convince John of that?

I peeked at the prices for May and I was surprised they seemed so much lower. Then, I realized that you only had to pay for 2 people. I was kind of thinking of just doing a weekend cruise on a different cruise line with just John and I but I just can't bring myself to leave Caitlin behind. I would never hear the end of it.

I have been pricing different options on different cruise line today to give DH a few options and to show that 2800 for the actual cruise it self for 3 nights is kind of expensive when you can do NCL for like 1300. Yes, I know no Mickey mouse but I am wondering if all the Disney stuff will go to waste with DH.
